Tickle, tickle...

I've finally found a way to approach and pet my skittish girl, Claire, that she absolutely loves and I owe it to my almost 2-year-old nephew.
When Sean was over last week, he crawled underneath a chair to get to Claire and very gently started massaging her with his fingertips and saying "tickle, tickle, tickle... "To my surprise, she loved it and rolled over on her back purring. It was adorable to see her respond that way, so I've been doing it too. Whatever works and makes her happy!

Sounds like your nephew has a way with cats. That's lovely!

That is so sweet! I'm glad she's accepting some affection. The picture of your nephew doing that just makes me smile.

eileen, i'm going to have to try that with ruby, if i can get close enough! (she runs when i get within 2 feet of her.)

It's worth a try. I can't believe how Claire responds to it. She's like a different cat. Good luck with Ruby!
