Please, let them know you love them as often as possible.

My sister passed away 2 years ago quite suddenly and fairly young.
After two years I thought I'd come to grips with it.

Tonight I was mixing a CD of 70's classic rock, and realized this was all stuff we listened to together growing up, and it stung.
I never got to tell her goodbye and the last words I'd said to her were 3 years prior to her death, and "I love you" never entered the conversation.

I regret it, and I'm going to call my brothers and sisters tomorrow and tell them I love them.

I too lost a sister suddenly about 9 years ago, she was 5 and I was 10. You're right, even if you think you've come to grips with it you never truely do. This year was the first year I was able to go to the grave since the burial. Luckily I was given the chance to say "I love you" before she was taken. I wish you the best, if you've never had therapy I would consider it. I never found a therapist I liked but if I had it would have helped a ton.

I'm so sorry for your loss

I never used to tell my 2 younger brothers that I love them - we never got along. Now that I moved away, the 3 of us are MUCH closer - they are my best friends

Thank you for the reminder - I think everyone needs to be reminded about that every once in awhile - I take having 2 loving brothers for granted sometimes - and I shouldnt

I now have 5 sisters and 1 brother.

Jan. 13, 2006 My oldest sister passed away rather unexpectedly.

Since then,(actually tonight too) the remaining sisters have been keeping a lot more in touch.
Tonight we went to eat at Olive Garden and went to the Mall and looked around. It was a lotta fun and I now cherish every minute with them.

Don't wait till it's too late to know them.

Under the cats, mostly.
Sweetie, that's a very stark reminder of just how cruel life can be sometimes. My little brother and I are very very close.. and I don't know how I would ever survive if something happened to him. I tell him every time I speak to him, how proud I am of him and how much I love him - but you know, you can get to take it for granted that that is how you feel and that they'll still be there tomorrow.

I'm so very very sorry for your loss and how it hurts you, and I'm going to take your advice hun. Thankyou so much.

Really sorry for everyones losses. I tell my sister I love her all the time, and she tells me aswell. I do have a little brother and sister who also know I adore them, and a step brother and sister, not so much, I find it harder to say to them.
I have lost my best friend and I know the feeling of regret, I also felt this when my Grandad died because I had been saying for a week or 2 I was going to call him and then he died and I couldnt.
But your advice won't fall on deaf ears, Im going to text my mum and everyone now.
Thankyou
Lauren
