Cats and Aloe Vera Plant

Thread Starter
my friend's cat knocked over the aloe plant and ate some of it yesterday. She knew the cat had messed the floor four times, but she didn't realize until late last night that the kitten had eaten some of the aloe plant. She said the cat had eaten today and seemed to be fine. Do any of you know specifically what effect the aloe would have on a cat who has eaten some of it.

Found this on the animal ASPCA site. It didn't say anything about cats but it did for dogs I would guess the same thing for cats. Yes it can be poison deadly for dogs.
Clinical signs: vomiting, depression, diarrhea, anorexia, tremors, change in urine color
It listed this number to call (ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center, call 1-888-426-4435) It would be best if she gives them or even better her vet a call and see what they say.

yes the aloe plant is poisonous to cats, however my cat has chewed on my aloe plant and lived to tell the tale. He only chewed on it once. I think the taste turned him off.
