I just remembered... it's been exactly one year today since I adopted Joshua!
I can't believe how fast a year goes by.
Exactly one year ago, I went to the humane society and spent hours looking at all the kitties. Some of them were real friendly and greeted everyone that near their cage. Including one fluffy orange cat that I almost adopted. But I couldn't make up my mind. Then I heard one of the volunteer talking to another visitor about that black and white cat in one of the cages on the top. She said that sometimes cats just gave up all hope when they got to the shelter and got really depressed. Until then, I thought he was just not very friendly. So I decided to give him a chance... I opened his cage and reached in to pet him and immediately he turned on his back to get a tummy rub
How could I say no?
I had just gone through some though time myself and I decided we'd cheer each other up. So I brought him home and almost immediately he turned into a very happy cat and looked years younger!
Now it's a year later and he's quite a bit heavier but just as sweet as ever.
