Well, we think we have finally found what is wrong with my 9 month old kitten.
She had symptoms of drooling and her tongue hanging out and just totally uncomfortable.
I brought her to new vet on thursday and they drew blood to check for anything that might be going on. That was inconclusive so we are haveing a Ultra Sound done sometime next week, the vet seems to think she may have Portosystemic Shunts. Wow, alot to go through for the little one. The only thing to do for that is to have surgery. Has anyone out there had this problem and what is the cost of surgery? I appreciate any input and I thank you for your time.

My cat is at the vet right now and they think she has this condition. My cat is six years old and although she wasn't drooling she had stopped eating and has lost weight. X-rays showed a very small liver. They are force feeding her today and doing the blood test for this condition. I can't afford to have an ultrasound done on her or the surgery so we may have to manage it with diet or decide to have her put down. Won't know anything til the bloodwork comes back tomorrow.
How is you kitten doing now? What did you decide to do? It's no fun when our pets are ill. I wish you well.
