Hi, Everyone!
I found this site by accident a few days ago. One of my cats has an eye infection that will not go away even after going to a specialist and I was desperate to get him some help. What a great site to accidentally get into! Everyone has been so friendly.
I live with my husband, have two sons (17 and 19) one stepson (25) a mother-in-law who lives with us and 4 cats. We just lost Bleu and Pearl this past summer. They were both 15. Pearl was a short haired white cat. She had congestive heart failure and I miss her very much. Bleu was born with only one kidney and was on special prescription food. When she got an infection she was unable to fight it off. After we lost Bleu my stepson (Frank) brought us Charlie. He is a huge dark grey cat - about 5 years old - who belonged to Frank's girlfriends sister. She married a man who does not believe in having pets, so Charlie was kept in a vacent rental house shut up in a furnace room in the basement. That was why Frank brought him to us so soon after Bleu's death even though we were not yet ready for another cat. His previous owner also had him front and back declawed. Charlie is the cat with the eye infection. He has a wonderful sweet temperment in spite of all he has been through. Tucker is a long haired grey and white tabby we found at the humane society. He sits in rediculous postions and has been known to play tug of war with a rope like a dog. It's very hard to keep him from getting matts because he HATES to be brushed!
Scottie is our 7 month old trouble maker. He is a beautiful tan short haired tabby. I work at a lumber yard and one of the yard men found Scottie in the pre-hung door room when he was about 3 weeks old. I brought him home and fed him with an eye dropper until he was old enough to be weaned. Charlie absolutely loves him and often gives him face washes. The play and wrestle togeather often. Scottie hardly ever uses his claws and we have wondered if it is because his role model is Charlie.
Tiger is the fourth cat. He came to us with my mother-in-law and is a grumpy old man. He doesn't like the other cats and he doesn't like the people in this house except for my mother-in-law. Somtimes he will tolerate me if I am feeding him treats. (Why would I feed such a grump treats? I guess I'm a sucker.)
Well that is our cat managerie, and I have rambled on long enough. I hope to meet many of you soon and hear your kitty stories. Also, thank you in advance for patience with my lack of computer skills.
