Today I went to my User CP and I have like 7 or 8 threads subscribed, and I did not subscribe to them. I never subscribe to threads - I don't even know how to heheh

I also noticed this a few weeks ago, when something subscribed me to hissy's - Mary Anne's - ...
... Forum Maintenance thread, but thought maybe she or another mod somehow made it so everyone was subscribed to it so they would know about it.

I'm pretty sure it couldn't have been accidently clicking something in the forums.

They're all just random threads...

Why is it that I am subscribed to so many threads?

Also, I'd like to subscribe to threads, willingly, but like I said I don't know how. So how do you subscribe to threads?

I cant help on why your being subscribed to random threads - someone else will have some insight to that.

But on how to subscribe... easy... in the reply box, go down a little and you will see "thread subscription" and then a box where you can click to have do not subscribe (probably set on this), no email notification, instant email notification and such... click on one of these

does that help at least with your second question?

I had the same issue - I was subscribed to a few threads too!

I was a little confused!

Yes, thanks so much!

Oh and I thought I was the only one!
Maybe it's just a defect from whatever it was/is that's been happening to the forums lately.

No. You can see thread subscribtions right when you go to your User CP. They're right there. I've posted in like hundreds of topics and I don't have that many subscribtions.

Or do you mean this has been happening to you too, and you thought that it was just subscribing you to every thread you post in?

Hmmm, I have a total of 696 subscribed threads including this one which I didn't subscribe to. That's why I thought that once you post to a thread you are automatically subscribed. I'm cornfuzed.

Whoa! That is weird. When you reply to a thread, under the reply box and stuff where it says "Additional Options", is the box where it says "Thread subscribtion" and "notification type", is it always on something other than "Do not subscribe"?

Mine is always on do not subscribe but I have no idea why it would subscribe you to every single thread you post in

How annoying...

There is an option in your User CP for automatically subscribing to threads you reply to. It is under Edit Options. You may want to check that and see if it somehow got set to automatically subscribe.

Hello,

This is certainly a very strange issue which I have never come across before. The only thing I can think of is with the old server when it was experiencing such high load and running out of memory it could cause the database to halt in the middle of a query which caused such effects.

Can you let me know if you have this problem over the next week or so on this server?
