Is this just a dumb idea?

Ok, in one week, I'll be beggining my mid-term break. A whole week off! WOOHOOO!!!

Ok, it's not really a week off because I have a lot of school work to do

I shouldn't need to spend all my time studying, but at the same time, I can't just leave my books aside for a week.
I have worked hard so far, and I have had a fair amount of stress through the first half of the semester. So I could really need a vacation.

Would it be crazy for me to go away on vacation and bring my school books with me? Or is it just pointless to go study in another city?
(keeps reminding me of Homer Simpsons' reason for wanting to travel "I want to watch TV in a different time zone! I want to visit strange, exotic malls!"
)
Ok, seriously... I am considering going to Boston for a few days. It's not too far away (so not too expensive to get there) and I went there for a few days last summer and I thought it was a great city. I'd love to go back and have more time to spend there.

Ok, here's my list of pros and cons for this little project:

pro:
I love Boston.
I could go to the Aquarium (turtles!!!
), to the Black History museum and probably a few more things too (do they still offer tours of Fenway Park during the winter?)
It would be good for me to get away (as much as I love my apartment and my city, I need to see something different)

cons:
It's kind of expensive. I do have the money, but I might need it later (for example, if I get a better opportunity for travel)
I would spend much of my time studying anyways (and do I really want to study in a hostel's dormitory? unless I went to study at one of the Universtiy Campus...). Too bad it's winter because the parks would make a great place to study otherwise.
I don't actually know anyone in Boston... maybe I should focus on going out here so I can make friends where I live.

Go to Boston. You deserve a break. Bring your books and limit your study time to 1 or 2 hours a day while on break. Or 30 minutes per subject. Set a limit and stick to it. It is called abreak for a reason. TAKE A BREAK ALREADY!

It's a little cold in this area right now!
It's not crazy to go somewhere else to study. When my husband was studying for his master's (from Boston University actually), he brought books on vacation a few times.

The aquarium is fantastic. I seriously doubt they are giving tours of Fenway right now. The field is completely dug up to put a new drainage system in. Fanuel Hall and Quincy Market are always fun.

Maybe the change of pace would do you good?

Im not really sure.. I mean a week isnt enough!
I reckon you should focus making friends in your area instead of going to another city.

But do what your heart tells you!

Actually, they don't call it a break here. They call it "reading week"
. That is so cruel!

Seriously now... I'm still not sure what I'll do. I guess it's mostly the money that worries me. I hate worrying about money and I'm always afraid to overspend.
