Zoie is a small girl just less then 50 pounds, Dexter on the other hand before he died weighed as much as me about 5 lbs less he actually weighed over 90 lbs
And he alway's had an attitude, not Zoie though she's smart and very sweet, and Loves the kitties alot

Zoie is so beautiful!!!!

I have a question. You said you have raised a few Basset Hounds are they always so stubborn?
I love Scoobie our Basset Hound but I have never seen a more contrary dog in all my days!!!
Is that normal?
I wouldn't have her any other way don't get me wrong!!! Depending on who you ask and what they know about the breed, you can get two very different opinions on Basset Hounds.

Scoobie is very laid back but if she doesn't want to do something, unless you carry her she's not going to do it!!!

Kisses our lab does everything she can do to please but Scoobie sometimes I think she could care less.
She thinks we are there to please her!!!

No I don't think there all stubborn, there mainly lazy
out of 7 alults I have had Dexter was Mr Grumpy for sure, he passed away about 11/2 yrs ago, he grumped about everything, and you dare not raise your voice at him,the louder you would raise your voice the louder he grumped and growled, he hated everything
If I got the nail clippers out and ask him " Can I cut your nails " oh boy watch out he would growl, grump and go off in a huff. Doesn't he look mean
he could be a brat though

But I raised about 60 puppies and had a ball they are the sweetest dogs for the most part, not real bright on the smart list. Dexter was very smart and so is Zoie, she's as sweet as can be, very quite doesn't bother a thing and Dexter never did either...My opion is that they are generally even tempered and sweet, Zoie Loves the kitties and with 8 of those she's alway's ducking
because she thinks she can play just like they do, they don't agree
They are usually great family pets... We still miss Dexter very much

And as for Zoie she's a Daddy's girl, my hubby carries her downstairs to go out to potty or to go night night, she's one spoiled girl, I think loosing Dexter made him Love her more, he had never lost a animal, and Dexter did Love his Dad
