Hi everybody, I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Shannon, I'm 31 and an RN in a small western NY hospital. My hubby is a police officer and we don't have kids, but we have a cozy little family just the same. I'm always reading and trying to learn new stuff about health and nutrition for these guys and I love sharing photos and stories.
This is Ruby, we adopted her 5 1/2 years ago from a northern NY no-kill shelter. No-kill shelters are great, but they are just full of 'lifers' it seems--she had lived at the shelter for just over a year when I took her home. Ruby was pretty much "numb" toward people when I first saw her, but now I can't get her out of my lap.
This is our newest member of the family, Lucy. She joined the family last August. She has some knee and dental problems and is a bit chubby, but she's "fulla piss 'n vinegar," as they say. What a great kitty. She also had been at the shelter for more than a year but never lost her 'people skills.'
I'm introducing the dogs too, just because!
This is MooShu, she came from a local shelter a little over 4 years ago. She's more or less my baby. She's high strung and has been nearly impossible to train, but she is extremely sweet and gentle and I just love her!
And last but certainly not least, this is our big jerk, Rommel. He's a real pain in my butt, but I love him too! He gets into all sorts of trouble if he doesn't get constant exercise, but a tired dog is a happy dog...
Anyhow, that's us!
