Hi. My cat is losing her hair. The vet said it is her food. Do you think it is an allergy to something in her food? We feed her Fiskies dry food.
Thanks for anyhelp!

She could well have allergies to her food. Friskies isn't the best food out there to begin with.

Try changing her over to a better quality like Royal Canin.

There is a lot of information in this forum on foods and the quality of foods. Go to some of the threads and do some reading. There are also threads regarding allergies to food which you should be able to find easily.

BTW - when you are changing over foods, you usually have to do it gradually, i.e., mix a bit of the new food in with the old and increase the amount of new food every day until you have completely changed to new food (about 2 weeks).

I haven't tried it because my cats are on a special food for another problem one of them has but I have heard good things about a food called California Natural Chicken and Rice. It is supposed to be good for both sensitive and allergic cats. I guess though it would be what ingredient she is allergic to.

Quite possible its the food - especially if the food has dye in it - the red one like in Meow Mix.

Try Nutro Max, Iams, or Science Diet - all are much better quality foods and may be the key.
