You have to watch it to see...but Lindsey Jacobellis made a bad decision towards the end of the finals of the snowboard cross. I'm sure it'll be replayed OVER and OVER again. She got silver though.

I used to watch only the figure skating. But after the Olympics in 2002... I won't watch it again. It's rigged to often. Not nessicarily the olymmpics, but the figure skating in general. So anyway. I won't watch the olympics anymore.

I have always enjoyed the figure skating competitions but this year, because of the new scoring system, they all look the same to me.
It's jump, jump, spin, jump, double jump, triple jump, quad jump (standing ovation) spin, spin...and on into infinity.

Where is the art of skating?

I hope that when the women skate, we see a more traditional competition.

Dudes....I'm stoked about the snowboarding.

I think that I have been enjoying that the most this year.

Does anyone else feel the same about the skating?

Pych eval is right. In the Skeleton they go over 100 miles an hour...head first.

I love anything with skis on! I've just been watching the ski-jumping - I can't imagine what goes through those guys' heads when they're sitting on that little bench about to launch them selves off the ramp

We're actually not that far from Torino - shame we didn't get ourselves organized enough to actually go and watch the Games

We did ski today though - knee-deep powder on untracked pistes!

Thanks Lei. I've been away quite a lot lately with work so I haven't been on much...

Just for you Lei - here's a couple of pics.

The first one is the view from our garden... it really is gorgeous here and even after all these years the view takes my breath away every day. Unfortunately we're being kicked out next year by the new owners.

This is one of me on the piste - I couldn't take any today because the light wasn't great so this one was taken last year but I'm sure you'll get the idea
... we really are very lucky to live here

Yeah, the performance by Yevgeny Pleshenko was so blah! I've seen better from him. The jumps are exciting, but they get boring after a while. Love to see a great death drop like Brian Boitano does.

Alex...You look very Olympic like on the piste.

The view from your back yard is breathtaking. The lake and mountains are right out of a postcard.
Are your flowers camellias?
Thanks so much for sharing your pictures.
Come back soon.

I like events that to me indicate the athlete is crazy: Skeleton, Nordic Combined, any X-Country > 20 k....short track speed skating....eeep!

I love the sports that we don't get to see very often, especially luge, skeleton, speed skating, (both short and long track). And I am a sucker for the endurance races, like the cross country skiing. When the athletes give it their all, and collapse across the finish line, I love it.

And like Heidi, I would love to see more biathlon. I think that's an ultimate sport, because it takes such skill, endurance and control.
