I am so afraid to get on this plane tomarrow. We are leaving for Florida at 2:35 pm, and I am all packed and ready...But except for Im almost crapping my pants because I have to get on a plane.

I am just so scared of planes. It doesnt seem like something that SHOULD be happening. I mean hundreds of people just kind of floating in the air, In a big thing....just doesnt seem like a good thing to be doing. Especially with my 2 year old daughter. I wanted to take a train. But that's not happening.

So I will be gone for a week or so, and If I never return...Then be worried. Because I AM! I am so worried. This is just horrible. So I suppose I am kind of looking for some quick vibes before I leave that everything will be ok. Even though its certainly NOT OK.

You'll be okay! My VERY FIRST flight was from Houston to the netherlands, a 13-14 hour flight, going over a VERY BIG body of water and I'm still here today. Since then I've been on 8 flights (3 of them by myself) and flown in a Cesna.

You'll be okay! *good vibes*

Yes, it IS okay! It will be okay, I promise.

I know exactly how you feel, I am so terrified of planes and heights. But I've been on one twice and I'm still here right?

Please, don't think about it too much. Stressing does not help and isn't worth it. I know you can't help it but you've got to relax it's for your own good. You'll be fine! Please don't worry Leah!

We'll see you when you get back!! Have fun, where ever you're going.

I'm so sorry you feel so bad. I have the same problem. In fact it was so bad it was beginning to affect my marriage. I even turned down a trip to Puerto Rico. So...after 9/11 I finally went to the doctor and got a prescription that helps me. Maybe if you have to fly again you could try that. I would get so stressed I would get diarrhea for days after flying. No fun vacationing with THAT!

Hugs!

Just remember you are more likely to die in a firey car crash on the way there than you are on the plane!! Ok, that might not be helpful to think about. Bring magazines and fork out the extra dough for the movie, if they are offering one. It helps you keep your eyes off the ground and on something else. Also eat something light before you go and bring something light to snack on, like a bottle of juice and some saltines. Good luck! I love flying, but I was totally nervous on my first flight.

If you have a book/magazine packed and some food snack as they don't really have good airplane food anymore you will do fine. You are flying with your daughter have some toys for her to. Talk with the flight attendant once you board also!!! I have flown in some interesting winter weather today will be a breeze. Are you flying out of Milwaukee??

Rememebr to bring chewing gum and hold your nose and blow while the plane is landing! Those ears are still popping!

i know logic doesn't help with phobias...but my father, a pilot, flew for 30 years or so - never even came close to any kind of an accident. take some antihistamine, or kava kava - that'll help you sleep/calm down some.

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
aaw dont worry you will be ok. Just enjoy your holiday. I know it's scary and I cant understand the physics either but it works. You are probably more at risk from crashing your car with all the idiots on the roads these days. Dont worry and good luck

Yes I am flying out of Milwaukee, straight to Tampa Florida. In fact the countdown is ONE and a half hours, before I just leave to go to Mitchell Int. Airport. Then the plane leave at 2:45 or somethin. But I have reverted to drinking. I knew I would. It helps me calm down. I dont feel so cool drinking at 10:30 in the morning, but whatever.

As a pilot myself I can assure you that when you get on an airline you are flying with the most qualified, expeirenced pilots in the industry. I'll send you lots of calming vibes just the same!
