Momma cat hissing at newly neutered sons

My 2 male kittens (5 and a half months) were just neutered today, and when they got home they ran to their mother for comfort the poor things - and she just sniffed them and then kept hissing at them!

Will she be aggressive towards them from now on? Does she not recognise them as her sons anymore? Up til now shes been very affectionate to them, giving them baths and washing them all over...

cool i think i will try the vanilla extract trick...i think it is vet smells, cos she seems skittish around the box that was used to take the kittens to the vet too...

Yes. It is for sure the smell of the vet that's doing this. So wierd, i think. But it's true. The vanilla thing works though. I used it once, and it worked. Good luck, and hopefully you've already done the vanilla thing, so that the babies can get thier much needed comfort from thier mommy.
