The Travel Channel is having pizza wars. Which won wins in your opinion?

Since I am close to Chicago, I vote for Chicago style
Any pizza that you can fold in half should be against the law!
In fact, if it's so thick that you can cut it with a fork and knife, that is how I like it.

There's no place like home
Since I lived in Chicago for 30 years, and in fact just finished off the stuffed Chicago style pizza that we made for the Superbowl (leftovers), I have to vote clearly for Chicago style pizza. Since we don't make it up there very often these days, we just make our own at home.

My favorite: stuffed (crust on top and bottom) filled with sausage, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and green peppers. We use 10 cups of cheese (mozz, parmesan and mixed italian blend). The pie weighs about 10 pounds.

Go Chicago pizza!!

NO WAY! The first pizzeria established in the U.S. was in New York, and it was/is serving NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA! Anything else just isn't pizza.

PLEEEASSE! Will we need to move the thread to the IMO forum?
Just because something was first doesn't mean it was better.

No need to move anything to IMO when there is absolutely no debate. I
NY (pizza).

New York Pizza is thin with a crust you can fold over and Chicago style is deeper pan with thick crust so it can hold more CHEESE and toppings!

Chris, I had to ask Aaron, who actually did a paper on the best pizza in college
His answer was New York style, hands down.

I chose "NY style pizza" but my favorite is pizza from here in Trenton. "Large pie, thin crust, extra sauce" is how I always order my pizza. lol (Yes, we do call them pies lol) Pizza from the Jersey shore is very yummy too!

I've been going to the same pizza place for all my life and it was horrible when I lived in Florida for 5 years. No good pizza!! Unfortunately, we only found one semi-decent place down there. Most of the pizza places are like Papa John's, Domino's, Hungry Howie's..

The place that I go to had an article in the paper that showed how someone from here that moved to California had pizzas Fed-Ex'd to him because he missed them so much!

Oooo! My second pizza related thread of the day! This is really making me homesick for my NY! I suffered greatly over the loss of my beloved pizza when I moved here. Took a while before we found the place my parents and I both frequent for our pizza and wings now. Someday I'll have to ask...they must be New Yorkers! (have the attitude!) So that tells you where my vote stands!

By style, I guess it's New York -- or at least closer to NY than Chicago. But here is the best pizza I have ever had ANYWHERE...Flying Wedge

Check out "Squash La Duck" -- I'll be ordering it in a few minutes. It's a "whodathunkit", to be sure, but we learned early with this outfit that if it got to the menu, it was worth trying and probably awesome.

This one is on the flax crust, by default -- check out "flax facts" -- though they do also offer a thicker herb crust. OOOOOOOO my mouth is watering!

There was another pizza thread today?

Fran- I have to say you have some unusual toppings on "The Wet Coast"
Blueberries?

Like I said, whodathunkit! But it really works. The blueberries are just an accent, not heaps of them. They are very creative in their combinations, and I wouldn't order pizza anywhere else now. (The service is also excellent. When they tell me 40 minutes, I know to go upstairs and be ready with my credit card in 30 or less.)
