In December I went to an animal shelter to donate some food and towels. The animals all looked depressed sitting in their cages. It was like they were serving a prison sentence but they were all innocent. Animals living in shelters are there because they have been abandoned, neglected or abused. They shouldn't have to sit there confined in cages all alone with nothing to do.

In the shelter they get food, water and warmth but that's all. I started thinking about what would make them feel happier. Getting a home of course, but what would make them happier while they are at the shelter?

I decided to start a non profit group called The Santa Claws Project. We deliver toys, treats, comfy bedding, and other nice things to shelter animals across the U.S.--year round. Please help by following the link below.
