Okay, I have no money. That's always a bad start. I want to do something really special. I want something pretty romantic, but not sickeningly saccharin. I want to put together something that is going to make Rune feel like a million bucks, without being really "traditional" like the kinky undies and a few drinks and a movie. Something a little bit different. HELP!!!

Oo.... Ryan, will you be an honorary girlie for this thread? Then I can have a guys point of view too!!

What about making him a nice meal?, then tell him over the candlelight how special he is to you

Theres nothing better than it coming straight from the heart

I bought Gils card last week and i was nearly in tears in the shop when i read the words

I did intend to do the dinner thing too... but it might be a bit tricky, seeing as we actually get to go home to our apartment the night before. We have no food in that place at all, and I'm going to be at work all day - as will he - so that'll make food shopping something really difficult to do
Man, men are so tough. He says he wants something practical. Well, I can't do practical for the lack of money...... men.

I have the same problem. So I bought Lee a really cute card, and of course the traditional cute nightie for me to wear for him, but I planned on cooking him a really nice dinner, and making a yummy dessert. Just making the day be ALL about HIM.

In the past i have made him a mason jar with little things in it like the things that remind me of him. I put movie ticket stubs, vacation brochures to places we have been, a few photos, change( he always has a pocket full), crayons ( he is a good artist), his favorite gum, just little things that would fill up the jar. Then I made like a index of what was in the jar and why it was there. He really liked it and still has it.

He is also a big race fan and races as a hobby. So i got him a plain white piggy bank and some paint markers and decorated it. It says Saving For race day, and has money on it. On the other side it has his number 8. He uses it ALOT!

We looking at it from the old married lady aspect-well lets just say DH isn't into mushy romantic stuff. The one thing he did do as a surprise was several yrs ago (5 yrs??) I had been traveling for work and got home early and when I pushed the garage door opener a red Kawaski ATV was sitting in my spot in the garage.
Of course I had to wait until he came home as I didn't know how to start and run it. It had been on my list of to buy items!!!! He knows that V-Day is more important to woman than men IMO.
Can you make some heart shaped cookies??? Homemade valentines??
DH would be happy if I finally hemmed a pair of khaki pants that have gone unworn for quite some time. Or a tub of his fav ice cream.
Could you offer a shower/bathtub times together????????????

I ordered a heart-shaped pizza one year. Of course I tipped extra and they thought I was nuts.

How about a smile jar? Decorate a jar and cut out sweet sayings. I got a lot online (just look up love). Type directions on jar - Take one daily or as needed.

I really like that idea too. I am going to make one for Lee this year!

Don't eat too much for dinner or you'll both feel like going to sleep! I say take a bubble bath together....and go from there....

How about you with a bow around your neck and nothing else??

Or, make a booklet with coupons for things like, a sensual massage for 30 minutes, or Total remote control use for the entire night? Fun stuff that you can have a giggle over!

What are your guys into? Sometimes the most romantic thing to a guy is knowing them well enough to know what they'd like...or doing something with them you usually wouldn't do. To a guy who isn't into "mushy" stuff a night bowling or going to a sports event (or anything he likes that you usually don't) can be a really great time.

Also, sometimes silly little things can be a lot of fun. A couple years ago I was out of town on Valentine's Day on business, so I hid silly little Valentine's notes ALL over the house. As the time I was gone went on, he kept discovering these funny little notes in odd places. He really liked it, and it was the only year he actually got me a Valentine's card. (He NEVER buys cards for anything, so this was really out of character.)
