Does anyone know if it is possible to change a file type? If so, how? I need to change some pictures from a regular 'File' to a JPEG type.

What type of 'file' are they? .bmp ?

most picture files can be changed to jped by opening in whatever image software you have and clicking 'save as' and choosing jpg from the drop down menu

The easiest way - if you have Windows - is to open the file with Paint (usually located under Accesories) but you can also right click the file and open as (or with) Paint - since your computer if it came with a graphics program like Paint Shop Pro or you installed a scanner and its grapics program (or printer), and then once it is open, click File and then click Save As and Save As jpg. You will then have a new file - smaller too!
