jack's vaccination lump

I am leaving in a few minutes to take Jack in to have his lump checked out. Please send your prayers, vibes, or whatever you've got our way. I talked to the vet this morning and she is thinking it will probably turn out to be something simple, but over the last few weeks I've read a lot about the vaccination associated cancer and it scares me.

Well, we went to the vet and it's not a cyst. She doesn't think it's a tumor either. She wants to watch it for another month and if it's still there she definately wants it removed. She reccomended warm compresses in the mean time, and of course if it should get bigger she wants to take it off sooner. She said she wasn't overly concerned, but that we would be doing the 3 year rabies in the future as a precaution. She also told me to take the kittens off of their kitten food, which she has never had me do in the past with other kitties prior to their first birthdays. These kittens are almost 6 months old. She said with the spay and neuter being done in Dec that their hormone levels have dropped and there is no reason to keep them on the fattening kitten food. These guys are picky eaters so it should be fun trying to find a food they like.

I'm glad to hear that its not cancer or anything. My Chichi, who is 16 has about 3 lumps. She has had them for as long as I can remember. They have all been biopsied ( I know I spelled that wrong) and all are benign. They have not changed in size, color, movability etc.... The vet is'nt to worried about them--- since they came out benign. She recommended removing them, but also said it was'nt a neccesary procedure, just to keep an eye on em' and make sure they don't change size etc... and they have'nt
