My husband is trying to ship a large car part ( a fender ) to another state. Does anyone here know the best way to send it??
We contacted UPS, but they charge some extra fees because of the size. Has anyone shipped anything large before?? We can use UPS, but I was thinking there might be another carrier service out there that maybe specializes in large boxes. Any ideas???

Thanks.

What about a different kind of freight carrier, like a moving company? I've shipped things by airline before too. Or maybe try Greyhound, I've seen instruments and such shipped by bus. Just some ideas.

DO NOT use Mailboxes Etc. I just had a very bad experience using them. They do not ship anything themselves, just go through other shipping outfits like UPS. They charge you double what the actual shipper charges them, and if there is a problem you cannot get anything done or any answers until your MBE decides it has the time to work on your problem. They are the actual "shipper" of the package, not you.

You could call them and find out how they would recommend shipping it, but my guess is that they would tell you the way that they could get the most money out of you.

You can try the train. We had a rocking chair shipped by freight train from california to oregon without it gouging us.
