Firefox 1.5

So I finally took the plunge and upgraded my firefox to 1.5

I hate the default theme and have attempted to install some new themes but I keep getting an error message saying I have to go into Edit Options and enable software downloads. I've already done this and it still doesn't work

Anyway, so I decided to try another tact so this time, I saved the themes to my desktop and then tried to drag them to the Theme Manager. This doesn't work either!

Has anyone got any ideas how I can install themes on Firefox??

After you download them, you should just be able to click on enable theme then shutdown & restart firefox.
I have the Noia theme on mine.

Go to Firefox's Tools menu, Click themes, click install and go to where you downloaded the file you want to install. Hit open and it should install itself but you won't see it until you shutdown firefox and restart it. HTH

This works in Thunderbird but not in Firefox as I don't have the option to install a downloaded theme. When I go into the Theme Manager, the only options I have are to unistall a theme or to use a theme.

I think there must either be something wrong with my browser or I need to enable something. In the past, I used to be able to click "More Themes" in the manager - this would take me to the Mozilla site, I would choose my themes, click the install button on the site and they would appear in the manager. Now, when I do this, it simply saves the theme to my desktop but then I have no way of installing them from my desktop

When I go to the Mozilla site and click install, it asks me if I want to install it and I hit okay. Then it autoinstalls, which is what it should be doing for you.

The only thing I can think of is some of the themes are incompatible with the most recent version of Firefox and won't install. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hmmm, I can't think where it's going wrong for you?!

Top get new themes for my Firefox Version, I go to Tool and select themes - I can then choose to 'find updates' or 'get more themes'!

Clicking on 'get more themes' gives me the Mozilla list of themes that are compatible with my version and others too!

If I can think of anything, I'll let you know!!

That's just it. I have no themes in Theme Manager except the default. I need to install some themes first so that I can choose which one to use. The problem is, I can't install any themes

I've just been told that there is possibly a problem with my profile so I need to delete that and start all over again. That means losing my bookmarks and everything *sigh* Good job I know the url for TCS off by heart!

Thanks to everyone who has tried to help

You can export your bookmarks to a separate file and then reimport them after you delete the profile. Got to Bookmarks - Manage Bookmarks. Then select File - Export and save it to a file.

Good luck
