I was holding Bella like a baby today and noticed that one of her fangs was sticking slightly out of her mouth. I thought it might be a loose milk tooth so I opened her mouth to check. It wasn't a loose tooth at all - I'm fairly certain it's her proper tooth but both her fangs seem to be a bit on the long side for her mouth. She's five and half months old. Will she grow into her teeth or should I get it checked out? They don't seem to be troubling her and she is eating fine

Don't worry, it is fine, and normal for the upper canines to be a bit on the long side.

Bella's adorable, btw! But yeah, as long as the fangs aren't interfering with any normal activities or bothering her lips, it's not a problem... Oliver's fangs stick a bit out of his mouth - ie: I can feel the tips of his fangs when his mouth is completely closed.... as far as I know, most cats are like this

Teddy's fangs are very long - and they actually hurt me when he lays his cheek on my hand. Cute position, but I get poked a lot in the hand! He doesn't have any problems related to the long teeth from what we can tell. The only thing to watch out for is if they stay long or get longer, and your cat likes to use her mouth on you!

Oooh cute, she looks like a pure bred british shorthair. I love kitties with round faces. don't worry about her teeth unless they seem to be bugging her. Sometimes they seem long b/c their head isn't fully developed yet. Think of yourself when your grown up teeth started to grow in at age 7 or 8.
