My son and daughter-in-law have a new baby so I am taking their two cats to the lake house. I am there most of the time but on occasion I have to leave for a few days. When I do I turn temperature down to 50. Can the cats handle that temp.? Will it affect their health?

If they are breed specific cats and can't handle the cold this would not be wise. But you should not just leave cats for a few days without someone there to watch them or at least check on them. And I would keep the heat up for them if possible, especially if it is cold outside. Unless they are used to being outside, they may not handle the sudden drop in temperature and you could return home to find cats with URI or worse. Which in the long run might cost you more than a heating bill to clear up.
