I co-habitate with a mainly coon who is a stately 9 years old and weighs in at about 15 pounds or so.

Last summer she developed a rather bad set of scabs along her entire back which disappeared as the temperature dropped although she's still a little sensitive around that entire area. She also developed a case of the sniffles and began having sneezing fits as well as a lot of eye seepage.

I've been told that giving her Benadryl will take care of all these problems including the scabs if they come back next summer. This half way sounds logical buy I thought I'd check the collective knowledge of you guys to see if you had heard of it first, and also to see if anyone had any idea of how much to give her if it is true.

Thanks.

I would talk to your vet if the drug helps then it could be any number of things... did your vet take a scrapping of the sores??

I used Benadryl with my dog GIgi but I wont again .. it just drugged her to much ... I cant imagine what it would do to a cat..

I'm assuming you are talking about the human medication Benadryl. If so, please don't give this to your cat without first talking to your vet. I honestly don't know what harm it would do personally, but good advice is never ever give animals human medication without first talking to your vet.
