Hi all. I need some help fast to trap a couple
(3) lovely stray/ferals that are living under a gazebo
at Carradoc Hall in LSB Va and eating out of
the dumpster there.

I haven't got a car large enough for the
traps to fit in!

I'd like to get
all 3 of the kitties together. 2 are fairly friendly,
one is a bit shy. I believe these are strays
about 4/6 mos. That's why I want to trap pronto.

I want to fix, take home, socialize and put up for
adoption. (My feeling is these kitties strayed or
were dumped and have gone feral. They certainly
know the sound of a can opening...)

Am still looking into the possiblitiy there is a feral
colony in hiding there... have not seen other
than those 3 kitties out. 8 pm / 10 pm nights
at the dumpster for the last week....

So can anyone near LSB Va help out with
a night of trapping? If not, I will try with
the humane society and see if they can
recommend a "helper"...

Thanks all! (Seems I've become a cat
lady despite my best efforts NOT to....)

Thanks TNR. I got (I think!)
some help from Alley Cat allies
and a local group.

According to the cook / manager,
there are a total of 11 cats - 2 were
taken to be adopted (kittens) and were PTS cause they
had (supposedly) feline AIDS.

I wish I had gotten to them
sooner!

In young kittens this test can be a false positive...
and in anycase, they would have been a great pair for
indoor only.

And as WE know, feline AIDS positive cats
can live happily with non AIDS cats and NOT give it to them.
Only passes through bites....

The cook and his manager are feeding at nights, round
11 pm. I am going out tonight at 11 to feed all of
them, and get a head count, and get the guys on
board to help me care and watch over them.

I have
yet to approach the manager's manager - I am sounding
them out tonight as to how he would react, re putting shelters
in to the bushes well away from the property... and of
course doing the feedings there...The whole TNR concept
being explained and see what they think...

He should be happy about that...if he's one of those
guys who doesn't mind cats. If he hates cats though...

Am hoping to stop a spread of kittens. 9 is managable,
but you know how they can grow fast to 28!!

I think I want the originial Mama cat first, then
the kittens she had (which should not yet
be preggers, cross fingers and praying hard.)

Then the TOMS. If all goes well. This is going to
be a many weeks / months project. Everyone,
pray for me and wish me well... I want to
prevent babies (up to an including a preggers getting
spay provided she's not too far along... I hate the
thought, but its better than letting them come into
the world and then trying to find homes....)

Wish me well all. I'm new to this, and hope I am not
getting in over my head. 9 I can manage on my own,
more than that....
