Just got home. A lot of hissing and growling still from the older cats. All fur seems to be intact though so that's a plus.

Hopefully it just stays at hissing and growling.

Is it bad to tell the older ones no if they hiss and swat at the kittens? Or just let them do their thing?

Just a little update...so far so good! Tyson is doing a lot better with the new little ones so that's good...Tinkerbell aka ("Rocky" Jay just renamed him
)is still a little hesitant but everything should be going good by the end of the week I would think. We have one little one named Sophie...still trying to decide on what the other ones name should be

Aww I love new kitties!

MieMie wont allow me to have another kitty. LMAO, but when I first brought Buddy home to her, they fought relentlessly. And a couple of times they drew blood. *eek* Now they love eachother.

When MieMie's kittens came to maturity, those 3 fought..ugh it was a rough 2 months, it was funny though because they'd run up to buddy (the only male cat) hiss at him, he'd look up at the ceiling, turn around, and walk off
smart man

Congrats on the new kitties! Just remember to give all the TLC you can for the older ones & let them know that they haven't been replaced! I can scarcely wait for pics!

Little update:

All kitties are doing well and seem to be getting along pretty good so far. Only problem we have now is keeping the food dishes re-stocked and keeping the boxes scooped. Have 2 boxes now and adding a 3rd tonight. Anybody have any other ideas on how to fight the kitty odor? Hooded boxes? Was also thinking about changing them to Natural Balance food slowly as I read that it is great for them. Any thoughts?

What is the humidity level in your house? My sis told me I should have the dehumidifier running all the time in the basement where the boxes are however since we heat our house with wood we need that humidity. Just keep on scooping!!!! You migh need bigger food dishes? I have one for each for wet and dry plus an extra for OX and 2 water dishes for the 4 (plus the toilets!!)

I'm not sure right now. Does that help with the stink?

go slowly with the new food - natural balance is quite rich. Cable still has soft stools if it's included in her wet meals... i posted about litter boxes in your other thread. the kits sound adorable - can't wait for pix!

When I first brought home my bengal, my older cat didnt like him at all. Now they are best friends and and cant imagine them apart. It just takes time and patience.

Right now I'm mixing the Natural Balance and Purina. It's been about 4 days and their stools are very soft, pretty much liquid. About how long does it take them to get used to the new food?

I know I know, I never did get around to going to the computer shop on Saturday to get a new cable for my digi cam, go figure. I'll get one asap, we have actually been taking pictures of them with the digi but have no way of getting them onto the computer.

Just to give you hope: Chichi is 16-- I adopted Murphy back in oct(?) they have just now begun to socialize with each other. Chichi has always been the only indoor cat, and bringing Murphy in the picture was more stressfull than good at first, but I am happy I gave them time to adjust and did'nt give up. Keep at it, our senior kitties are just set in their ways.

See how close they can get now (that's Chichi checking out stinky butt)

They even play

Guess who's under the covers

Give them time, they'll come around

They all get along pretty good now. The thing that I'm noticing now is, our two older cats are about double the size of the new ones, and when they play the older ones seem to be too rough so the little ones meow really loud and put their ears back and hiss. Occasionally I will break them up but usually I let them work it out on their own since their cats.
