Oh Max, for sure. It's a constant bone of contention between us, because I am messy and lazy, and he is messy (less, though) and motivated!!

He gets a bit mad when I come home from work, dash straight into the bedroom and jump on TCS. I'm not allowed to do that anymore until I've done my `jobs'

None of the poll options matched us, so I didn't vote. We both work, but he does more anyway!

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
Me! I moan about that, but then also if Mark were to clean the bathroom I'd moan it wasn't right so really he can't win. He occasionally does the dishes but he makes such a meal of it that I prefer just to do it. I hoover every single day, do laundry 3 or more times a week, clean the bathroom twice a week. Aswell as all the dishes, I could come in from work and the kitchen has gone from it's morning spotlessness to looking like we havent washed up for a week, so Ill tidy up and then later in the evening its filthy again, I dont know how it happens. Maybe because nobody uses a cup more than once lol.
Although I lost the plot last week a bit because I had visitors coming and I then came back from the gym to find the kitchen SPOTLESS. So I can't complain. I do have high standards when it comes to cleanliness but I'm proud of it, I just wish others could keep up

I just despair over this still prevailing attitude that whenever men do something around the house it's `helping' - ie, it's our job really but they are nice enough to help with it.

Not so!!

Max does the jobs that need doing, because they need doing. If anything, when I do something it's more like ME helping HIM!!

I didn't vote because none of the posts match us. Anyway, I do the housework and cooking. He takes care of the yard. We have three acres so that is quite a yard in the summertime. If I ask, he will fold clothes and help me with other jobs inside, but I usually don't ask unless I feel bad.

Ha! All you ladies whos guys help out a lot are so lucky! I clean the house, do the dishes, cook the dinner, do the grocery shopping, do the laundry, pay the bills, clean the cat box, feed the cat, all the inside work is mine. He does the outside stuff except we have very little grass, no pool to clean. I am getting more of the bad deal here than i thought!

Wait until I get home. All of that is going to have to change.
Lee isnt going to know what hit him.

Come to think of it I asked him to clean up the kitchen while i cleaned the rest of the house... the kitchen still isnt cleaned!

I do everything at my house. It's just me the cats and the fish. However it still gets messy all the time. The boys shed like it's going out of style and track cat litter everywhere. But I wouldn't trade them for the world.

I'd say it's about equal. I do the cooking and laundry, Rob does the garden and fix-it stuff, we have cleaners come in because neither of us ever got around to it. Anything else gets done by whoever it bugs first, and that seems to be pretty evenly distributed. We're a good team.

I do it all and there's a ton of it! My furry freeloaders are here all day long while I'm busting my bottom to keep them fed and happy, and they can't even be bothered to scoop their own poop before I get home.

Ingrates, I'm telling you. Every single one of 'em.

My cats do the most!

They guard our house all day long.

They re-place things, after us humans are "misplacing them"

They make sure our couches stay warm

They make sure our bed is untucked so it's easier for us to get in when we get home

They keep the insects out!

Other then that, we both work, we both clean...we're pretty much equal

Your Poll is a little biased. Your assuming a woman is answering the poll (there are men on this site) as the options use the word HE a lot!

Any way I do it all as Eva is bedbound and long term ill. I get up at 4 am most days to do as much as I can before I go to work and make sure she is O.K

I spend more time doing home chores than dh. He does all the outside chores, horses, dog, lawn. In the summer the lawn takes a long time, we have 4 acres, and only about 3 acres are pasture, so he mows a LOT! And in the winter the horse barn is a cold place to shovel manure every day, and they NEED attention twice a day, rain or shine. Not like my chores of dishes and laundry that can always be put off a day if I want.
He also does the grocery shopping, pays bills, & takes out the trash. And fixes stuff that breaks.
I cook most nights, although we do hotdogs or sandwiches more often than I would like. I do laundry for 5, and all the cleaning and scrubbing. He helps straighten on occasion, and would do more if I asked, I'm sure. I do all the litterbox chores. The kids help out when asked, and I try to make them clean up after themselves, and help with household stuff. Like put away dishes or load the dishwasher.

We both work fulltime, and should probably hire a maid to keep the place cleaner...but thats a dream at this time!

IA. If you need me, just meow..
I do the majority of the housework. He is getting better at doing some things though like rinsing and putting his dirty dishes in the dishwasher (although I reorganize them for maximum efficency) but he will occassionally run a load of dishes and put them away. But I do all the vacuming, dusting, laundry and general cleaning. He helps with the cat boxes once in awhile. Oh does feeding the fish fall into the chores? if so then that is split evenly. Oh yeah he gets all the outside stuff, shoveling snow, lawn mowing, things of that nature.

I study and my bf works, so we try our best to split up chores...whether it's scooping, dish washing or tidying the living room

Well..I do..I'm the child of the household but I'm also home most of the day soooo yeah..I do a lot of cleaning and stuff in the house.

I don't know how much work my parents do since most of the time when they are home I isolate myself into my room. My parents and I just haven't seem to be getting along very well lately so I pretty much just let them have their house as long as they give me my room it's all good.
