Hi, just put Swheat Scoop into one of my litterboxes. I usually use Everclean but it's horribly dusty and I have athsma, and I read on here that athsma sufferers shouldn't use that kind of litter..SO, I got some Swheat Scoop to try in one box for now and see if they like it, and maybe I'll switch if they do. How many have tried it and liked it, or disliked it, and why? I like it for what it does but don't want to upset my crew. My other thought was to try feline pine scoopable, but I can't imagine a cat would like the smell of it?...thoughts? I just scooped the boxes, and first i did the SS one, and it scooped nicely. A little slowly, but the clumps were nice and hard, and I could smell nothing. Then I went to the regular boxes and was like "yuck!" The clumps came up not so well as the SS, and I could smell it.....

I use Swheat Scoop with my boys, and really like it. I mix it with a little bit of Arm and Hammer Flushable to help a little with the smell and to help it clump better, and I use liners to help with the fact that it tends to stick to the boxes a bit. The boys don't seem to mind the liners, so it works fine. It tracks a little bit, but its easy to clean it up, not dusty at all.

I used it for awhile with some foster kittens I had. I really liked it, but you have to keep it deep or else it won't clump as well. It does help with the odor. It's light, so sometimes it stuck a bit to their fur, but not too badly.

I tried feline pine...once. I couldn't stand the smell, and the kittens absolutely refused to pee in it. I learned an expensive lesson...I paid for it in cat beds since that's where they chose to pee instead.

Thumbs down from me- hard to clean up, the cats loved to sample it for real because it smells like food- I went back to my plain stall dry.

I use Swheat Scoop, and i'm quite happy with it. Like you i hated the dust of litter and ended up having breathing problems after changing the litter. I find that you have to keep the boxes topped up. I put down baking soda (arm and hammer) on the bottom of the pan to keep it from sticking since my cats seem to love peeing directly on the plastic.

For me its worth it for the lack of dust and harsh smell.

I found that our house stunk like cat box when using Swheat. It was especially terrible in my bedroom. If you spray the box with Pam cooking spray, the Swheat doesn't stick as much.

I do have to say that I love Feline Pine(regular). I did have a run in with the Scoopable & won't use it again. Twitch came out of the box with yellow feet. I was worried she was ill & managed to pee on her back feet, only to realize that it was the Feline Pine. I did have a hard time dusting it off as she wasn't very cooperative. The scoopable is really fluffy, for lack of a better word, & Lily like to play in it(rolling around, playing with toys in the litter box). Some cats like the texture of feline pine pellets & some don't. I would suggest trying both kinds in two different boxes at the same time to see what the kitties like. BTW-Feline Pine doesn't cover smell much if you cat doesn't bury(like Lily). I bought a special scoop for feline pine pellets & it works great. I am definately going to stick with it.

I really liked Swheat Scoop, although it was a bit sticky and gooey. I actually would use a little bit of Pam on the bottom of the box so that it wouldn't stick, which seemed to work. My cats used it for a while, but as soon as school started and I wasn't around to scoop after every use, they decided that they didn't like it after all. If you can keep the box ultra-clean, it's a great litter.

As for me, I use Arm and Hammer Super Scoop Unscented, because it seems to be what my cats like best. They did NOT like Feline Pine, Yesterday's News or, curiously, World's Best.

I have one of the boxes with this. Its the favorite box to pee in but I agree hard to scoup out and must do often or you will have a box full of hardened material. Its expensive though when one has a multicat household.

I used it for awhile but still found it too dusty for my liking so I've switched to World's Best Cat Litter and I love it.

I just got two bags of Swheat Scoop today, and haven't tried it yet. It has just gone on the market here. I use liners, so I'm hoping there won't be any trouble with it sticking. It's awfully expensive here - €8.95/ $10.74 for a 14 lb. bag - so I can't see myself ordering it again unless it's far superior to the clay litter I now use. How much do you pay in the U.S./Canada?

To answer the original question, I rather like Swheat Scoop. I found a voucher for a free bag that I got when I adopted Bella, and I needed fresh litter, so I tried it out.

I think that it controls oders very well. I'm living with my soon-to-be in-laws for a few days until I can move to California, and I have the litter box in their guest bedroom, where I'm sleeping. It's a pretty small room, and I'm fine with the door shut (keep the cats from scratching up their house) all night and during the day when we're gone.

I did notice that it's a bit sticky against my liners, but it's not that bad. I've had worse experiences with my old clay litter. It does track just a bit more than the clay litter, or it might just be that the box is in a bedroom, not a closet with shag rugs to catch it all.

I've always kept the litter levels pretty deep (it's how my mother always did litter boxes), so that wasn't an issue here.

I'll probably go back to clay litter if Swheat Scoop is too expensive. I didn't really look at the price, since it was free.

I haven't used it yet (I'm still using the litter my new girls were
using at the refuge) but plan on trying it as soon as I can.

One reason I'm looking into it, beside the lower dust (I'm asthmatic,
too) is that it is safe in sceptic tanks, while the clay litters are
NOT.

I suspect my waste removal service will much prefer it!

I used Swheat Scoop for awhile, and in a mulitple cat household, it was difficult to remove, and as others said gooey and sticky. It was great though, as far as the dust control. Also, the odor control IMO was amazing. I might will try the litter liners.
I would like to hear a bit more about (Worlds Best?) Is it dusty? Is is safe for small kittens learning to use the litter box?
Right now, we use Tidy cat, but because of my senstivity to the dust, my husband has litter box duty. (hmmm, do I really want to change?
)
