I've been trying to figure out ways to spice up my workout routine lately, and decided to purchase a month to month, 3 day a week membership at a gym near me that has a pool. 24 bucks a month, not bad, and I can cancel it once the weather gets nice and the public outdoor pool near me opens up.

Today was my first day of my swimming workout and MAN am I whooped! I warmed up jogging on the treadmill for about 10 minutes then did laps for 30 mins alternating between freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and flutter kick w/ a kickboard.

I grew up in FL and swam nearly year round, and have really missed being in the water!

My one problem though, I need to find a gym bag that has a "wet" compartment to stick my towel/suit/goggles in on the way back from the gym so my wallet, ipod and whatever else in my bag doesn't get squishy. Any swimmers out there have any reccomendations of a brand or place to look online?

I started swimming @ the gym too and had that problem - until I realized that they had a little machine that sucks ALL the water out of your swim suit and towel for you so its dry and you don't have to worry about a icky suit to take home in your bag - our is in the girls locker room - does your gym have one? That would be a great alternative!

Wow, that sounds like a pretty snazzy machine! I'll have to poke around next time I'm there and see if we have one...

Worse case scenario, I can always wrap my swimsuit up and stick it in a plastic bag...but I'd almost have to use a small garbage bag to stick my towel in, which would take up a LOT of room in my bag!

I've got an absolutely fantastic gym bag I bought from Lululemon (yoga gear retail chain that's all the rage here in Canada!).

Unfortunately, you can't see the bag on the website (www.lululemon.com), but I imagine you could contact the nearest store to you to see what is available.

I found the bag I own listed on eBay, and though they are asking an outrageous amount for it (
), the listing will give you an idea of what the bag is like. I paid $64 for it retail, and it's worth every penny! The quality is amazing.

cheapest alternate is to shove the towel, and swim suit in a plastic bag
