..I know that my kitten is crazy but is it possible for a cat to jump in the tub when they know there is water there? Frappy just stares at my water and almost jumped in one time.Curiousity right?

Does your kitten try to get in the water - or just sit on the ledge and look? Harley does the same thing - even when I'm in the shower, he'll sit on the ledge of the tub and just watch the water - sometimes he'll sit in the back of the tub where its just getting a little wet and stay there til I'm done.

Kittens are curious - if your too worried about it, just keep the door shut while you're in the tub, or while you're not in the bathroom. We keep the door open when we're not in there, sometimes we find Harley sleeping in the tub (empty of water of course)

Some cats do like water. Our neighbor had a himilayan(sp?) that enjoyed taking dips in our pool.

One of my cats (Humble) likes to get into the tub and try to get water from the faucet, when the faucet is off. They both like to take a nap in the empty tub. I guess because the cool feels good to them.

Mine sit on the edge and sometimes dip paws in the water. Wellington and Dushka love the water and drink from the tap. Both of them have fallen in the tub but it didn't put them off!

Some cats do like water.....our 2 are not as put off by itas most, although they do not try to get into the tub when there is someone bathing in it.
If your cat is not a kiten then I would`nt worry about it......(if you are)....a full grown cat will probably not have any trouble getting out of a tub of water if they happen to fall into it....just don`t be "IN THE WAY"!

My shower is really slow to drain so sometimes after I get out of the shower Otis will hop in and play in the water. As long as the water's not coming out of the faucet he doesn't mind it

What if they're sleeping in there and you want to shower?

My Diesel loves a running tap, and has jumped into the shower while I was in there!!

I have heard of stories of cats jumping into a full tub without realising it!! I feel sorry for the person already in the tub! Ouch!

Our neighbor's cat, Misty, used to spend a lot of time in our house before they moved away. Misty loved "water shows." We would run the water in the sink or the tub and she would watch intently. Sometimes we would allow the sink or tub to fill a bit and then let it out. One day she was having a water show in the tub, it was filled about 1/4, and she jumped right in! She jumped out just as fast!

So I would watch a kitten around a tub full of water!

Yeah that happened to me and my legs got very scratched up! Didn't put Rocket off water or the tub though.

yes, both of my kitties love to watch the water. big kitty used to sit on the ledge and watch the shower while i was in there. they both like to watch it while i wait for the water to warm up now. my boyfriend told me that one time he was taking a shower, stanely jumped up on the little ledge INSIDE the shower (he was blocking the water with his body) but i've never seen him do that.

Jasmine (previously known as Red) and Blue both are fascinated by the tub filling with water. I set a stepstool next to the tub so they could watch. Blue jumped in the shallow end a few times, and watched as the water inched up to her. She was also known to jump in after dh had a shower, and come out all wet after evidently rolling in the moisture!

The others, Festus and Garfield, will watch me in the tub, but certainly stay way away from getting wet!

Kitty doesn't dislike water but she certianly wouldn't voluntarily jump into it. She seems to enjoy and occasional warm bath in the sink though.

Casey and Charlie both love drining out of the tap in the bathroom sink. Charlie actually drinks out of the stream while Casey just licks the bottom of the sink.

The bathtub is also a source of facination in our place, they both come running as soon as you start the water and they both love to play in the tub. The few times I've had a bubble bath have also been interesting. They both sit on the edge of the tub and "taste" the bubbles
, luckily neither of them have fallen in!! Casey has fallen in the shower a couple of times (well actually Charlie shoved him off the edge of the tub and in to the shower) but luckily no one got hurt!

When we got all our kitties the first thing they got is a bath in the sink!!
Bakker loves looking at running water and will sit at the edge of the tub.
The others stay away. I've had cats in the past fall in the toilet too when they were young.
