I met fwan, Teufel and Kaylee this evening!

And Fran's mom, who drove them down here. Teufel and Kaylee are ensconced in our spare bedroom right now, as they'll be staying here for the next week and a half to two weeks. They're not shy kitties at all. They came right out of their carriers, explored a bit, ate, and played with their toys. Teufel is definitely a lap cat - every time I go in there, he climbs up on my lap for a cuddle. Kaylee would rather play than cuddle, and is completely enamored of the Boogie Mat in the room. I checked on them about a half hour ago, and Kaylee was up on top of a high (6.5') bookcase, and Teufel was snuggled up in the blankets on the bed. I'll take some photos and post them once they've had a chance to settle in after the long drive and encountering strange people and surroundings.
Jamie was his usual unfriendly self with strangers, but at least he didn't completely hide out from Fran and her mother, as he usually does when somebody he doesn't know is here. He's not at all happy about having competition, and growls at me when I come out of the room smelling like other cats. There's been a little bit of wailing at the door, but not as much as I'd expected. Of course, that might really start tomorrow, when he realizes they haven't disappeared overnight!

Sorry to cut in,....couldn't help it! I guess curiousity killed the cat but oh well

..So what's the story here, why do they need to stay there Fran? How close do you 2 live to each other?? How exciting meeting someone you know from TCS! Well besides all that - sounds like Teuful & Kaylee have made themselves at home! I think Jamie wasn't as bad as he normally is with strangers is because he can sense a real cat lover from people who don't favor cats too much and Fran is a definite cat lover duh!!

Yeah....

I'm kinda curious as well!

I will go to sicily next week and my friend who works at the vet doesnt want to look after my cats because she is "allergic" But she is looking after my Bunny. And my other Friend in frankfurt couldnt look after them either.

Tricia lives about 2 1/2 hours away from me but my mum is slow, and we got lost several times and we had to stop a few times so in total it takes my mum atleast 3 hours. Though im sure next time it will be quicker as we know our way.

Im even suprised to how they settled in at tricias, Since teufel went missing he doesnt like strangers and gets scared quite quickly!

Jamie of course didnt let me pat him, but he did stare at me and sniff my finger Maybe next time

I'm glad you made it home okay! Do you want to explain, or should I? I'm cat sitting, because Fran is going to Italy next week.
Things are quiet here right now. Teufel and Kaylee are sleeping, but Jamie is grumbling because they're sleeping in his bed (all beds, blankets, perches, etc. belong to him, of course). They both made right up with Robert, too, when he went in to see him. Teufel would like to get out and explore the house, but Kaylee is being more cautious. Teufel and Jamie keep pressing their noses against the glass in the door, but she's staying away from the door.

Here are the first photos, from this morning. I thought they'd best be posted in Fur Pictures: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...69#post1040869
Kaylee and Teufel are settling in surprisingly well. They were quiet last night, ate well this morning, used their litter box, and played for quite a while. I went out on the balcony with them twice, for about 10 minutes each time (it's quite cold here).
After lunch Jamie took a siesta in the living room, so I closed the door and let Teufel and Kaylee out for a little over two hours. They had so much fun exploring! The steps seem to be a real hit with them. Kaylee surprised me by being the first one out the bedroom door. They poked their noses everywhere, climbed all over, used Jamie's litter box (Kaylee was in there no less than three times, but was just playing in the litter the last two times; it's finer than what she's used to, so an "experience").
Both seem to miss their meowmy. They're doing a lot of chirping to each other and to me. Teufel climbs up on my lap and purrs whenever I go in the room, and Kaylee is coming over to be petted, and rubbing herself against me. She can't sit still, and wants to play, play, play. He let me brush him (belly, too), but she wasn't interested. Right now they're napping on top of the bookcase after their exciting time exploring. Last night they slept on the bed under some blankets.
I think they're going to have to take the Panic Mouse back home with them. Jamie found it boring, but they love it. Kaylee found a pack of catnip in the bookcase this morning, tore it open, and got high. Teufel nibbled on some, but it didn't seem to affect him.
So they're doing fine here.
They found catnip! you have be so careful with pasta packages and chip packages, teufel is able to carry it around the house and tear it open.

Im so glad they are settling in well.
Yes stairs are a hit especially with kaylee, she loves running out of the front door and climbing all over the place

*feels alot better*
I just hope they still love me when i come home
post #24 of 28
what a lucky are you !!!
I really envy you boths!!!
It's nice to see that Kaylee and Teufel are settling in well and having their own little adventure. Perhaps after a few days of no less love and attention from his humans, Jamie will decide that these two little interlopers aren't the threat he thought.
It's so cool that you are watching Fran's kitties for her. That a great idea, you two!

In fact...

Chicago TCSer's....who wants to be my kitty sitter when I go to masterclass this summer???
awwww

they seem to be doing very well, you are so lucky fwan to have someone to look after your kitty's

hmmm, maybe i'll have to find a TCS babysitter when i go on holiday (makes a list of all members in WA)

at least you know they will be well looked after and kept safe and i know they will both miss you

have fun on your trip too
