Like too many people out there, I have suffered a cat loss. Though this was a year or so ago and I love my new kitties dearly, I still miss Cinnamon. I feel very sympathetic to all greivers and hope that no one minds that I would like to share this.
Cinnamon was an adorable ginger cat (hence her name). She always came running when I came in through the front door. She had been my kitty since I was two years old. She lived to be about seven or eight (we didn't know how old she was when we got her). My mother and I adopted her in Ohio at a farm where she had been left to fend for herself. The owner had moved and had at least the decency to leave an opened bag of cat food behind for her. Cinnamon had been through many moves from many houses. She was always there for us. Then, her internal organs began to shut down. She had kidney, liver, and lung failure, as well as a small tumor in her brain that was growing slowly. There was nothing the vet could do for her. So, three weeks later, my mom, dad, and I went to the vet with one of our neighbors (for my comfort). I couldn't bear it, so I stayed in the car. My mom came out crying. She said that Cinnamon was purring when she took her last breath.
I miss her so much.

Thanks for hearing my story and I wish that no one had to go through the loss of a pet so dear to them.

How sad, to lose a kitty you had since you were just a baby. Of course you will always remember her. I am glad you have new kitties to help comfort you. It was good to find room in your heart for a new companion.

I know exactly how you feel. I lost Mittens back in November and although I adore Bella and Cinders, I still miss Mittens desperately.

Mittens was my first cat - well, she wasn't exactly mine, I met her when I met her Dad. We didn't get on at first because I had never had a pet before and she didn't like me coming along and taking her dad away from her. She would do stuff like poo in the bathtub because she knew I was a bath person more than a shower person and other stuff like that.

When David and I moved in together, we would have monumental fights and more often than not, she was the cause of the argument and on more than one occasion I would try and make him choose between Mittens and myself. It wasn't until 18 months later, when we were on safari and had spotted some lion cubs that I felt really strange. Those strange feelings turned out to be because I was missing Mittens! She was initally very suspicious of me when we got back from Kenya because I was all over her like a rash but she soon got over it

When Mittens died, I couldn't go into work for a week because I couldn't stop crying. We got Bella and Cinders because my husband was genuinely worried about me. The kittens are very special and have really helped with the healing process but Mittens will always hold a special place in my heart

It really is difficult to lose a kitty you grew up with, or your first kitty, as Pui Hng wrote about. Unfortunately, it doesnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t really get easier when we lose others on down the line. In spite of this, I think we all agree itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s better to have the companionship and love of our little fur friends than not, so we enjoy and make memories with all of our kitties every day.

Rest in peace, Cinnamon
. . . and Mittens.
You are both remembered, and we know youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll be waiting for your people at the Rainbow Bridge.

I am so sorry about the loss of Cinnamon and Mittens. That is the common bond we have with each other though. We all love and miss at least one fur friend. My heart aches for each one because of having lost those dear pets of mine too. It is odd how one seems to stand out in our life more than the others. I miss my Max who passed in July so bad. I feel like my arms ache to hold him. Not long ago, I had a dream about him. I had asked the Lord to let me see him. Then I had the dream. In my dream, I was holding him and loving him very close to me. I was more than disappointed when I woke up and realized it was just a dream. It hurts. But there are so many other little fur babies that need love. I am so glad I still have Speedboat and Muffin. God bless each of you that know the pain in your heart that never really goes away.
