This may have been posted or answered, sorry if it has! But I was wondering (in case I ever have time to try and do it) where do all the great backgrounds everyone uses come from? I especially love the kinda crazy ones that look sorta spacey with all the beautiful colors. Anyone know?

I make all of my backgrounds myself. I don't know if it's legal to really use someone else's pictures to create a background. If you have Photoshop, I could tell you how I make mine kind of spacey backgrounds.

Is Photoshop something you pay for? I don't think I have it on here...if its just something I can download I will definately do it. If its a paid program I'll have to wait a bit...

I make my backgrounds too & I use Paint Shop Pro 8. It's very afforadable, you can get the full version, mint in box on ebay for under $20.00.

I've got Paint Shop Pro as well. I find it a bit harder to use that Photoshop, but it does offer the Tubes which are cool. By the way, I'm really intrigued about getting PSP 8 for only Twenty Dollars.

I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CS & actually find that's it's harder to use than PSP, because that's what I know. I don't know what I'm doing in Photoshop... I couldn't even find an undo button & since I didn't know what I was doing I really needed that!

I think that Photoshop is the best graphic program out there, but if I had to rate them with a "Consumer Reports" type rating (where you also look at prices), I'd give Paint Shop Pro the top rating.... you get the most bang for your money.
I'd love to get Photoshop, but even the older versions are out of my price range.

On Photoshop, the "Undo" button is in "Edit", "Step Backward". How do you "Center" things in Paint Shop Pro? I could never figure that one out. PSP 8 and after are similar to Photoshop, but I don't think you have the control. The thing I DO like about PSP, is that you can save PSP files as Photoshop files, which means I can take the tubes and make them usuable on Photoshop

I personally like photoshop better, but work paid for my copy
if I had to pay for it myself I would only have PSP.

As for the backgrounds, I make my own, there are lots of tutorials on the web on how to create different effects
