John, Like most other posters here, I read this thread all the way through. You and your cats have truly touched my heart! I'm wishing all the best for you all. I know everything will work out. You'll get the zoning you need and soon be able to move to a bigger lot and bring Carmelo home. Thank you for sharing your cats and your life with us!

Hmm, maybe I will find new property for Christmas. Wouldn't that be a wonderful gift, to have our big boy home with us for the holidays
Thank you for reading these posts and I hope to have many more pictures for everyone soon.

Just wanted to let everyone know. I have been taking a lot of pictures, so I should have a bunch to post soon. We also had a HUGE scare yesterday. Carmelo had stopped eating for 2 days and had been vomiting. He was taken to the vet, they did X-rays and found part of a venison femur bone in his intestin. They wanted to see him again in 24 hours to see if it had moved, which it didn't. He was feeling so sick, that he wouldn't even stand. So, I took the day off from work, to be at the vet for an emergency surgery. They gave him a sedative to prepare him for surgery, when things went really bad. He started to vomit again and then it happened, HE STOPPED BREATHING!! I called the doctor to come to his room quickly. When the vet came into the room, he took a huge deep breath and started to breath again, but it was very labored. They hooked him up to an IV with fluids and after about 10 minutes, he started to breath normal again. He had stopped breathing for about 10 seconds, which may not seem like a lot, but it felt like forever. I thought we had lost our big boy. After 30 minutes or so on the fluids, he was ok for surgery. I was able to be there for the whole thing, even in the room during surgery. They were able to remove the bone, which wasn't as big as I would have thought, about the size of a quarter. However, there was a very sharp edge on it that must have gotten stuck. Normally, this bone would have passed without incident. After he woke up from the surgery, you can see that he was already feeling better and by 9 pm last night, we wanted to go walking around. But, he will be kept in a warm room for a few days. Today, he has a fever, but we will be getting some antibiotics for that. Let me tell you, I don't ever want to go through that again. When he stopped breathing, I thought my big boy was gone. Thank God, he is doing ok

I know that had to be very scarey. I'm praying for his continued recovery. I hope that little bone was all that was wrong with him, and that now he'll be his old self.

Any updates on your boy?
As of last night, he still had a fever, but he is very alert and he is drinking his water. He is going to get some turkey today, so we will see how he holds that down. I will be sure to let him know, that all his TCS fans are thinking about him and wishing him to get well soon

He went out for a walk today, so in another day or so he should be back outside in his enclosure. However, he is being spoiled right now. He gets to sleep on thick quilts in a heated room. If it gets to cold, he may not want to go back outside
