I'm sure that most of us here would love to have an exotic cat or two, but do not have the space, time or funds to do so. Thanks to John, we are able to learn about these beautiful animals. We get to see a lot of amazing photos and hear about their daily lives. I am ever so thankful to have met you John and your beautiful family through the pages of the catsite.

Well said...

I feel that way about our domestic kitties too.

To me, there is nothing more beautiful than the face of a Cougar.

I agreel. I know I post a lot about my big cat family, but I feel the same love and devotion for my smaller domestic cats as well

They have such a proud majestic look about them
I wish that I could let each and every one of you, see their face up close in person as I do. That is why I take so many pictures to share with you.

It has been my pleasure as well

Not at all. However, our cougar no longer runs around inside the house, he is much to big for that now at 160+ pounds, so he lives outside in a large secure enclosure. The bobcats are in the house and also have a secure enclousre to go out in. I have never had anyone freak out, they always fall in love with them, especially Carmelo when he chirps and purrs at them

And in my case the more pictures of beautiful Amber the better.
I have them, but it may be a few more days before I can post them. I will be busy this weekend at the sanctuary for our "Howl at the moon" event. But, I am on vacation so I should have the time to sit through the slow dial up and get them posted. Yes, I have many of Amber for you

Wow, what a busy weekend we had
I left from work at 11pm Thursday and headed to the sanctuary. We were up by 8 am and were busting are behinds to get everything done. Saturday morning, we were up early again to put the final toches on the haunted house we had built. (Well, the house was there, but it has now been totally converted to a haunted house. The house was built in the 1800's and really looked good for our first try at this.) However, we then got word that the band who was going to play, had CANCELED at 1130 am Saturday morning and the event was to start at 2pm!!
Well, in spite of that, we had a good turnout. The weather did cooperate somewhat. It was cloudy, cool and windy, but we had no rain, even though they had called for it all day. We just had a few sprinkles that lasted no more than 5 minutes. There was a food vendor there, we had a nice long hey ride, the haunted house and of course, the cats
Carmelo was in his glory meeting all these people. The crowd was thrilled to watch Carmelo and his girlfriend attack, throw around and eat pumpkins. Kisa Marie, the Euasian Lynx, thrilled the crowd as well with her high jumps, catching smaller pumpkins in mid air, then chewing them open and rubing her face in them. We sat around and howled with the wolf and also had a huge bon fire to keep everyone nice and warm. We had fund raiser chocolate to sell and a 50/50 raffle too. I do not know how many peolple were there in total, but during the time when we were giving pumpkins to the cats, I had a crowd of maybe 80 people around the enclsoure watching. Not bad, because people were constantly coming and going. I didn't get pictures inside the haunted house, because I was busy with cat tours. I will be back there mid week, so I will walk through it and take some. Of course, the actors won't be there inside, but you will see how dark and spooky it was in there. You entered in through the basement storm doors, which was pretty neat. The whole top floor of the house was a dark maze, with only 2 spots that had any light and those were colored lights. We had people hiding in the maze, in hidden areas of the walls, who would pop out as you walked by. By the reaction of the crowd, I think the house was pretty good. I even heard one girl ask another kid, "did you go through the whole thing" as if she was to scared to go through
My wife hid in the maze for awhile and heard some people say, "wow, this house is really weird" and one boy told me, "it's to dark in there, you can't see and you walk into and bump other people who get scared or scare you". I told him, that's the idea
The haunted house went so well, that we may open it up again for next weekend. I had a good time. After it was over, it was time for us to have some fun. We got some food, some good "stuff' to drink and had ourselves a party

John, I loved what you wrote in responce to that question. Very true and very moving!
Glad you liked. I think it really lets anyone who reads it know, just how much we love our cats. And let me tell you, today, Carmelo wanted all the love from me he could get. Every time I walked away from his enclosure, he would chirp and yell at me. When I got back inside with him, he would head butt me (or should I say head ram me
) then wanted me to hug and kiss him all the while he purred his heart out. When I walked out, he would call for me again. He just wanted his daddy

I'm so glad everything went so well this weekend, John.
Sounds like everyone...including the cats had a wonderful time.
The band doesn't know what they missed!

Ok, I have been promising new pictures for quite some time now. So hold on to your seat, because here we go

We'll start out with our girl Amber.
Such a pretty face

I just had to post this one. She looks so silly here for some reason. For some reason, her body looks to small for her head
It must have been the angle I took the picture, it just looks so silly.

This is MY toy and your are NOT getting it

Time for the boy Boris.
Boris snuggled with Aurora and Cinnamon. Gives you an idea just how big of a boy he has become

Stop taking pictures of me

Such a sweet boy.
