Just horrible that this beautiful, magnificent animal was killed like that.
Do you think your friend would take in that serval and bobcat?
Oh yes, I am very familiar with the story of Bobo. Very sad, there was no need to shoot that tiger, was just a case of over reacting. NO ONE was in danger at that time!! Of course, I also blame Bobo's owner for not handling this cat properly and allowing it to escape.
As for the Serval and Bobcat, I spoke with the guy in New York today, who should be able to take in these 2 cats. He has his USDA class C exhibitors permit and just needs to get a permit from the New York state DEC. That is, if New York will issue him the permit. This guy has experience, he has been a volunteer at a local zoo there for a few years now and has taken and passed the FCF, Feline Conservation Federation's, wild/exotic feline husbandry course, as my wife and I did. He sounds just like me, has a very strong love for these cats and we enjoyed a nice conversation sharing cougar stories
If these cats can not be placed with him in New York, we will go and get them. In no way, will these cats be in danger of being put down or anything like that. I will be there to get them, if the need should arise.
Slightly off topic .. but cops killed a cougar in WA state today since he had been seen a few times near populated area s...
Oh this type of thing just angers me to no end
I get blamed or should I say, been told many times, especially by the AR like PETA, HSUS, API, ALF that these animals belong in the wild. I have had a few TCS members tell me that as well
Funny thing is, these cats have no place to go in the wild. When they roam into our developments, they get killed. When a person is hiking in a wild area or should I say, in the cougar's home, if a cougar attacks a person, that cougar, as well as other cougars in the area, will be killed as well. Usually, the only time a cougar will attack in the wild, is when they are defending their cubs who may be near by. So much for being better off left in the wild
Where are the AR people for this? You won't see them of course

I'm glad you're following up and helping these cats find a good home. I still feel so bad for them not knowing where they're going and wondering where their "Mommy" or "daddy" is....
As for Bobo, I agree he should not have been able to escape, and this guy seems kind of kooky in a way. I don't know that his cats are in the best environment, but if I had big cats like his, I'd make sure they had a couple of acres to roam like they would in the wild. Poor Bobo. He was probably just stretching and yawning and this a**hole shot him.
As for killing wild cougars, etc., it's development that are these poor animals' enemy now. People can't respect their space--homes and industry now occupy what was once their home. A family of 3 foxes were living downthe block by a cattle farm here in Boynton, but the farm family sold their land and the family of foxes were displaced. I have no idea where they ended up, but now there is a new SuperTarget and Best Buy in a place they used to call home. It sickens me and I won't shop there.

I get sick every time I see some new retail development get built. We do not need any more of these big ugly box stores or super this and that. I hate all those places and avoid them. It seems every single city, town or village feels they need these big box stores. These poor animals get displaced and when they walk into a neighborhood, everyone feels they should be removed or destroyed and like I said, God forbid a person violates an animal's territory, in what is left of the wild and gets bitten. The animals are then killed as well. I say, you decide to go hiking, camping or whatever out in these wild places, it should be enter at your own risk. You get injured by a wild animal, to bad, stay away. This is why private ownership of these wild or exotic animals are so important. (I am not just talking about zoos either. I mean private owners such as myself) This will be the only place these animals will survive in the future. Ban our rights to own these animals, means certain extinction. Remember, extinction means gone forever. I hope people realize this before it is to late, but I doubt they will.

I think I need to post more pictures soon. I have been avoiding it, because of my slow dial up, but I have a whole bunch more

Excellent, I am happy to see you there. You don't have to own any exotics to join there either. You will get to chat with more responsible exotic cat owners there, just like me

I took more pictures yersterday too, so I have quite a few new ones that I need to get posted. Carmelo wasn't being very cooperative yesterday however, he was being a big spoiled brat

Ok, so you wanted more pictures did ya? Well, pour yourself something to drink, sit back and enjoy the show, because here they are.
I'll start out with our domestics first. Who better to start off the show, our queen Aurora.

Our little boy Baxter who is growing up fast.

This is our very shy girl Cinnamon. I don't get many pictures of her that often.

No more pictures please.

Lil Roar.

Our over weight boy, Tommy Boy.

Pretty girl Amber. I thought I took more of her.

Amber and Lil Roar.

This is Beast, an African Serval.

I love those big Serval ears.

I am sorry I didn't have more new pictures of Amber for you. I thought I had more for some reason, but I promise to get more.
Here is my boy Boris. I love these 3 pictures. Boris appears to get more sleepy with each one.

This is Buddy bobcat.

Deja cougar. She is so pretty.

Montana, Eurasian Lynx.
