How can you tell how old a cat is?
Do you count their teeth like a horse or is there some other way of telling?

When I got Willow, the shelter told me she was at least a year old, but the vet said she was only 9 months (she's about 7 years old now). I never understood why the shelter would overestimate her age...you'd think they'd rather guess that she was younger.Originally Posted by sharky
the younger the cat the easier to get within a few months... my Zoey was told at the shelter to be 2-3 yr s ... two vets within a month of me getting her stated 8-10 months ... her current vet said she was born no earlier than 2004... which meant she was not older than 9 months when I got her...
I have a picture of Harley's teeth! If they look like his - then you'll know your kitten is about 6 months!Originally Posted by menagerie mama
