hi there,
ive come across this website looking for help..(this site is deffo bookmarked now) theres some great information on here, but i cant find anything to solve our prob....
we have two cats and one of them(bonnie)has taken to one of the neighbours up the road who she regularly visits.just lately she has started taking clothes with her ranging from one of my girlfriends "going out" tops to my socks! this is really funny but slightly embarrassing aswell,is this normal behaviour or is she pining for something? bonnies about 10 months old and is fed/watered/looked after really well.
on a side note we have attracted another cat to our house that bonnie doesnt seenm to like.would this affect her behaviour?
hope you can help and look forward to your replies,
many thanks,
steve.

I can just imagine your neighbor's surprised face at the presents your Bonnie brings her/him.
I think Bonnie likes your neighbor.
Bonnie's reaction to the new cat is normal. The stranger is after all moving in her territory. Are you planning to adopt it? If so, read the stickies above on introductions.

as to the clothes going astray..is this quite normal then or should i try and intervene to get her out of the habit?

I wonder if Bonnie is just bringing gifts to your neighbour? Does she play with the clothes that she takes? i.e. hunt them and kill them? She could be taking her prey to shar with your neighbour!

I often find pieces of my underwear have wandered - but my cats are indoor - so at least they are somewhere in the vicinity.

Hopefully someone else will be able to offer some insight too!

when my oldest female, Akasha was a kitten, she use to bring my husband's boxers upstairs to my mother and meow loudly until praised. Your cat is probably bringing her "kills" to your neighbor to show off her hunting skills. My girl grew out of it, hopefully your will too.
