Can cats be a hobby?

I have to write a five paragraph essay for my Composition I class. It can be no longer than 2 pages. There are several topics to choose from, but I could easily write about a hobby. The hobby that would be easiest for me to write about would be cats. Is caring for cats(& other pets) a hobby? I don't care if I come off sounding like a crazy cat lady in this paper.
I'll never actually meet the teacher as it is an online class. What do you think?

I would say so.

If you spend time and money on/with your cats in your spare time, that's a hobby imo.

Cats can be a hobby, just like beekeeping or tropical fish. This is an interesting challenge, in your essay, to explain what makes caring for cats a hobby, and not just part of housekeeping.

I think you should go for it. It IS what you enjoy doing. I'd say caring for cats could be a hobby. Good luck with the paper!!

My prof. told me this was supposed to be the hard paper. Writing a 5 paragraph paper less than two pages....sounds easy to me!
I've written harder papers in elementary school!
I guess I can't complain!

Yeah, I'm doing it on cats. I have my name, the class, the date, the professor's name, & my paper name done so far. I have only been working on it for....lets see.....an hour & a half!
Maybe I'll put it off until this weekend...after all, it isn't due until Monday!

Hmmm....that name sounds familiar - I never had that prof tho - All the prof's there are super nice tho - I think one of my old roomies had that prof b4 tho!
