After putting it off for over a week due to inconvenient work schedules, the cat rescue lady came and got them. She said 3 of them are already spoken for, as tabby kittens are in high demand. I'm sure the 4th black kitten will find its way, and who wouldn't want the gorgeous majestic momma? Seems everything has worked out even better than could have been asked for.

I would most strongly recommend having this cat spayed right away. This will abort the kittens which is tragic, but you are right that without an indoor home most will not survive and you are also right that there is a huge overpopulation problem with just too many cats.

Once she is spayed you can set about finding a home for her...and know that you will be just finding a home for one cat instead of one cat and her kittens! It's a much more manageable task, and she can always continue to live outdoors while you find a home for her.

You are a True Hero, Cactus Will!! What a wonderful success story!!I am sure that the little lives that were ended by mom are now little kitten-angels over the other side of Rainbow Bridge - most likely, they were sickly, and if they died, would have contaminated the nest, so mama-kitty did what came natural - maintain the safety of the nest for the sake of the stronger kittens. And the stronger kittens are getting adopted! Again, congratulations on a job Well-Done

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Had I not learned from you guys here on what to do, it couldn't have been done. So the credit is yours and not mine. Anyways, I learned the rest of the story of the lost kittens from my roommate. He was there when they were born while I was at work. The first one was stillborn and very small, she probably had been carrying it deceased for some time. The 2nd was having trouble breathing and passed within the next 24 hours. My roommate removed it from the litter and set it aside. While he was deciding what to do with it he walked away, then once he came back she had retrieved it and consumed. So I think it was all just the doings of mother nature, and it really feels alot better to me that she did not devour live kittens or anything. I am going to email the cat rescue lady soon and see how they are settling in. She said she was going to get their exams done, as well as the vaccinations and aids test for the momma. So once I find out I'll keep you all posted

Good news and bad news. Good news is, kittens are doing great. Bad news is, the mother has tested positive for leukemia. But shes in the early stages, and will be headed to a cat reserve in georgia exclusively for cats with leukemia. The kittens will be weaned early and adopted out given they test negative, if any test postive I assume they will be headed to the same camp with their mother. Its sad, but overall a good thing has happened. A stray cat off the streets, and one less to infect other cats. Well I'll let you guys know if I find out anything else, as it happens. Thanks again for all the info and advice
