i'm good friends with vanessa, the policwoman in town, she recently found a joey and has been looking after it until it can be released into the wild.

a few nights ago we were drinking at the pub when i mentioned that i'd babysit it for her if she ever needed to go away, young joeys need a lot of care, special feeding times etc, anyway, she just called and wants me to babysit it for a few nights because she's going away, i'm so excited!

i have to stop by her place tomorrow so she can teach me how to care for it properly

i love kangaroos so much, it's going to be fun, the only thing that won't be fun is giving it back lol, i just wish it was legal to keep kangaroos as pets because i'd so love to have one.

i promise i'll post pics

That's so cool! When I read the title to your thread, I thought to myself "blech, babysitting" (I'm real big on maternal instincts
) but this sounds like it'd be a memorable experience.

Awwww, I love kangaroos too!
My dad grew up in the outback near Brisbane and had seen his share.
Please do post pics... I can't wait to see them!

vanessa isn't coming back until Wednesday so i get china for five nights

i'm so going to be a wildlife carer after this

i'm really excited but it will be sad to give her back lol, it will be a great experience though, i wish i could have a pet kangaroo, they are so sweet.

i'll post pics very soon, she's getting dropped off tomorrow lunch time.

Sounds like a fun job!! The closest I ever got to a wild animal is having a baby raccoon riding around in my hood and using my hair as reins. lol

Really?
They get HUGE around here (Toronto). They have no fear, those critters. I admit, they are kinda cute, especially when they are babies.

Happy Australia Day, btw, for yesterday...lol...yay any excuse for a public holiday. Although in my family we tend to call it Invasion Day...

Happy Australia day to you too and your right....any excuse will do lol, we all gathered for the raising of the flag, sung the anthem out of tune, plus most people didn't know the words
then we went and celebrated in true Aussie style with a BBQ champaigne breakfast
it was a lot of fun but i miss the fireworks i used to see when i was in Bunbury, next Australia day will be in Bunbury though so i can see them then and buy one of those glow necklaces
why do you call it Invasion Day?

kangaroos are awesome, they are one of my favorite animals and are very cuddly, my husband and i went to a wildlife park once and there was a very grumpy old male kangaroo, when ever jeff got too close it would try to scratch him with it's paws and made a hissing noise, it was so funny, i also love wombats, they are so fat....it's funny because not only are Aussies laid back but our animals are too

vanessa was busy at lunch so she has to drop china off at three in about 12 minutes, i'll post pics once iv'e finished fussing over her

i'm so excited lol
