So about 3-4 years ago I had a real bad back pain, it was hard to walk, drive, or anything else for that matter. I would lay down and couldn't get up.

Two days later I started comming down with flu like symptoms, I was sneezing, headaches, coughing, my fever was 104.1 and would go down after I slept (I was so cold, I slept under 3 blankets, two pants, 2 shirts, and a sweater) I stopped eating, I just didn't have an apitite.

I told my dad i needed to go to the doctor, he was shocked because I NEVER ask to go to the dr (I was in and out of the hosp. a lot as a kid, because of my ears, and then I had mononucleosis)

So that Monday (5 days later) he took me to a local clinic, and the nurse tapped my back, I flew off that table I was in so much pain. She did a urine sample and my keystones were spilling over, she did a blood test and my BP was 280/80.

About 30 minutes later I was sitting in the waiting room for an ultrasound, everywhere they even slightly touched hurt so bad. They did the test and I went home and went to bed.

About 2 hours later I woke up to my dad screaming at me, It scared me half to death, just the sound of the worry in his voice. He told me that I was going to be admited under emergency stat into the hospital. They offered to send an ambulance, but my dad wanted to take me.

I started crying, and my dad had a few tears in his eyes on the way there (and if you know my dad, he NEVER cries) I was scared and neither of us knew what was going on.

So we got to the hospital and they gave me a potassium drink along with the IV. Your normal potassium level is between .5 and .7, if it gets too low your body stops functioning, mine was at .2.

They did a catscan and ran more blood tests on me. Turns out my kidneys were almost to the point of shut down, and my liver was swollen. They gave me hospital strength vicadin which is supposed to last 6-8 hours, it only lasted 3
The pain was horrendus.

So 3 days and 2 nights in the hospital, and no-one could figure out what happend, the insurance would only cover me for that long, so I got sent home with meds, I got better, and still to this day, have no clue what happend.

Anyone else have weird experiences???

Wow, what a scary experience.
I'm glad to hear you are doing better now. You are truly blessed to have such a caring father. We should all be so lucky.

When I was 19, I took a bad hit of blotter acid (stupid, I know) before arriving at a house party with some friends. Well, to make a long story short, after arriving at the party I lost consciousness and had seizure after seizure. Apparently an ambulance was called and in my still unconscious state, ended up being admitted to the ICU. When I woke up later the next day, it turns out I was hallucinating so badly that I had to be restrained. The strangest thing is that 2 other people I was with took the same stuff and absolutely nothing bad happened to them However, I was taking psych meds at the time and I imagine that had a lot to do with it.

My wife is prone to dehydration and has to monitor her potassium constantly. Once she was taken to the ER with a level of 9.2! The docs were amazed that she was still alive. She needed dialysis. She has had many health problems, God bless her, and she's been through a lot. I certainly hope you stay well from now on. I don't get sick much so I can't speak from personal experience, but having given my wife many such rides to the hospital, I can certainly understand how your dad feels. I'll say a prayer for you, okay? God bless.

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
Gosh some of you certainly sound lucky to be alive!! I've never been ill like that, I've only ever been in hospital a few times, once after my car accident and another time that was my fault. I was on the verge of it when I had Glandular Fever a few years ago because my liver was so inflamed, but I got better at home.
Glad all of you are ok!

I am glad you got better. The Lord was not finished in your life and He gave you another chance. Death can come so suddenly and we don't have to be old either. Life is precious, but death is forthcoming for all of us, and we need to be ready to leave here when it does.

Thanks you guys!

It's scary what people can go through, and what they can over come. I just don't understand what happend, I wish I knew, after the incident I started taking different multivitamins, but it's so hard, I hate swallowing them huge ass pills. So I usually drink an energy drink.

For some reason I can't eat bananas or tomatoes (tomatoes peel off a layer of skin from my tounge and bananas make my tounge hurt real bad)

Sux

But yes, we should all be thankful we're alive to this day and how incredibly lucky we are to be alive, people die everyday from random things, and we're still breathing.

I thank god every day that I'm alive after my hospital visit. I also thank God that I told my dad I needed to go to the dr. if I had waited any longer, things may have been very different. Because like I said, I thought I just had the flu.

And in the end, I had a $20,000 hospital bill, $250 ultrasound bill, and a $100 Dr. office visit. THANKFULLY my dad has badass insurance and covered all of it.

You know though, the reason that makes me the happiest to be alive??

Who would take care of my 4 babies?? And who would foster my foster kitties? And who would do as good of a job at the shelter I work at??

Only me
hehe

It's so hard to let fosters go because NO-ONE can be as good of a mommy or daddy as yourself....but, I can't keep them all
