I am taking 3 classes this semester: Chemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology II, and Nutrition. I am trying to maintain full time hours at work so I decided to take Nutrition online.

I have tried online classes in the past and they are definately NOT for me. It's not an issue with discipline, it's my learning style. I really need to a lecture where I can interact with the professor and other students, and most importantly take my own notes. My nutrition class is easy, our tests are online. We have 60 minutes to complete each one, they cover 4 chapters, and we have unlimited attempts to take the test during the month or so it is available to us.
The thing is, I am not doing any of the study guides she gives because I don't need to. I have enough time to look up the answers to the questions on the tests and I score well. The problem with that is I am not learning anything.
I was looking forward to taking this class so I could learn how to eat better....
Does anyone who has any experience with online classes have any advice or learning strategies they can share with me?

I am taking four classes this semester. I am taking Business Management & Intro to Computers at the campus. I am also taking Business Law(it's a total bore) & Composition I online. The Comp class will be easy. We get plenty of time to write our homework papers(which can be no more than 2 pages
) & we have to make 3 entries in the chapter discussion. The business law class is harder. We get more points for out entires into the chapter discussion & the prof doesn't give us much time to do our homework. Comp I is self-paced & law isn't. I am also the type who does better in lectures, but I have never taken online classes before & I wouldn't know how I would do if I didn't try. I have to drive 3 mintues to get to campus, so I didn't really want to drive there everyday, esp. because campus is the other way from the HS & then I couldn't volunteer.

I printed out calendars from my computer from now through May. I wrote the start date & end date of the semester on it. I have one pink calendar for Comp & blue for Law. I have been writing down due dates. I keep a two files in the filecabinet(that's actually the table legs for the computer desk), one for each class with all of the intial info in them. My best study tip: put a sleepy kitten in your lap. I have Lily sleep in my lap then I am not tempted to get up. I don't want to disturb her.

One of the most important things to do is to stay off TCS while studying. As I am studying right now, obviously that didnt' work for me. I don't know how to do it. I don't think I can stay away. I don't have the willpower.

I took a couple online classes a while ago. Not for me... I'd just turn on the music and start surfing the web or chatting to online friends. Plus out online school site always had issues and would be down more than half of the time.

I LOVE online classes. I just don't have the patience to drive to school, fight for parking, or sit and listen to lectures. I don't mind doing the work, but I just hate going to class. Last semester, I had 4 classes that were online. This semester I have 2 out of the 3 I'm taking.

I used to procrastinate. But I don't have the energy to do that anymore. I've become a very organized neat freak. I keep my schedule written down. I write it down every week, and the first page in my binder is a reminder of what's due that week.
