2 of my cats appear to have lost their minds. Leo started whining and crying last night. I thought I had corrected the problem by giving him back his favorite water bowl. I went to pet him earlier today and he got agitated and looked like he was about to jump at me when I touched him. Georgia is usually very sweet, but she has bitten me 3 times today after she insisted on being held. She bit me while I was holding her and then jumped down and bit my foot. This happened twice. There are no changes in the house, no new people, no undue stress. Leo is currently whining while laying in his usual spot on the floor. The only new thing is the water bowl. If Leo doesn't quit by tomorrow, he is going to the vet.

It's hard to say if there's something that may be bothering them, or they are just going through a little "stage". I agree that if the crying continues, I would take him to the vet just to have a check up. If there's something going on, he may be telling you in his way and Georgia may be trying to help.
On the behavioral side, I have a cat who walks around and cries about once a day. Of course, he went to the vet and not a darn thing wrong. So far the only thing I can come up with is that on occasion they all see a stray cat that passes through the front yard. He also does this to let me know he wants a treat. If it's a behavioral issue, you just have to hunt and dig to find maybe even just a little tiny difference to them.

krazy kat, are you maybe wearing a new hair spray, perfume or soap? Perhaps it's a fragrance they don't like. I'm really curious - please let us know how this turns out.

I am still not sure what all the fuss was about, but everybody seems to back to normal. Leo has decided he wants to be my SO's baby for awhile, but no more whining and crying. Georgia is back to her sweet, naughty little self. I guess they were just being cats.
