Hurray! I have my first three TNR kitties at the vet.

I was planning on doing four this first time, but one the females would not cooperate and go in the trap. I will just have to keep trying.

The three have come through surgery and are doing fine in recovery.

I am supposed to pick them up from the vet tomorrow after work. How long should i keep them in cages before releasing them?

They were stressed from being captured and caged and I don't want them to get sick from it. But I also don't want to turn them loose too soon and them have problems.

Also, I only had them s/n and rabies shot given. Is that o.k.? I really don't have the money to do more since I am the only one financing this TNR project. I'd love to do all their shots and have blood work done, etc., but that just isn't feasible if I am to get all this batch of strays s/n. I felt like that was my priority.

I appreciate the support. We live in a rural farming community and not everyone shares your enthusiasm for my project.

Comet is doing fairly well considering what he has been through. He got snipped too and his boo-boo's examined. Our vet didn't really do anything but nod and roll his eyes when I tried to discuss his progress. As I mentioned before cats and strays aren't given a lot of consideration around here. But I will persevere(?).

The vet did loan me a small live trap to try and get that other female that is alluding me and said to just bring her in whenever I was able to catch her without an appointment. Stormy is being obstinant about being caught.

Many wonderful groups started with one caring person...keep at it.
