I scoop mine into plastic grocery bags and tie them shut before putting them in the trash. Some people use diaper pails or separate trash cans just for scooping. Good luck!

I too, scoop into a plastic shopping bag first... I bought a small trash can at walmart to be specifically for kitty poos (it's oval and has a lid that opens by pushing a button) - it's a pretty tight seal and I dont have any problems with smell (I'm in an apartment complex and sure am not running to the dumpster every time this monster poops!).... a lot of people use either a litter locker or empty litter buckets for the same purpose, basically anything that seals pretty tightly - also, if you wait for the poos to dry and harden (like dont follow your kitty to the box and scoop immediately) you wont break open the smell as much.... I keep a stick-up air freshener in my poo-can and use trash can liners (I get a big roll of vanilla scented ones at the dollar store) to keep the can itself from smelling - I didn't used to line the can, but found it kept the odor, so it was a shot in the face when I opened it - I used diluted bleach to clean it and started using the liners and there's no problem with smells now... good luck!

I use the big buckets of tiddy cats litter so usually I save the bucket after it's empty. Then after I scoop it into a bag I throw it in the bucket and just throw the bucket away once it gets full.

wow. love the idea about the tidy cat bucket..and I am going to Walmart soon..so I should look for a small trash can for that but you would think an animal that small would not have such a strong odor..so i wait for it to get hard. I am using that crystal stuff and that stuff is awesome on liquid. but that poo is killing me..went to bed once and walked past the can and I swear that stuff was following me..I was like ....OH NO..outside it goes.thanks again.

I use a flushable litter (Swheat Scoop with a little Arm and Hammer Flushable) to keep the smell down in my apartment, which works out pretty well. But as a suggestion, sometimes the food your cat eats can cause stinky poos. What are you feeding right now?

I get the little tiny "scrap" garbage bags at the grocery store- they are much smaller even than the 'small' garbage can liners. On the back of the box you can order a little stand to hold them, so I scoop into that then tie the bag shut and toss it in the garbage. I use two a day and I think a package of 50 costs about $1.50.

I put it in a shopping bag, then put it in the trash, which is in the kitchen and in a nice little slide out cabinet thingy, so you don't smell the trash and it's hidden. We keep an open box of baking soda in the back of the cabinet. The smell doesn't seem that bad.
