Hi, my name is Cameo and here is a little about my pets.
I have 4 cats and two pitbulls.
Guera is the oldest of my pets. I have had her for almost 10 years now. I bought her from a pet store that had taken in a litter of kittens and given them their first shots. So basically it was like a rescue.
Sunkist is a stray that I found at a friends house. Apparently she followed their kids home from the neighborhood pool. She was dirty, skinny, and talking up a storm. It was cold out and I couldn't leave her out there.
She is softer than cotton and has taken over my boyfriend! Even though I adopted her she loves him to death b/c he works from home. She loves to lick people on their noses while resting on their chest. She is about 2 years old.
Matteo is one of my new babies. I have had him a week. His mother was Calico and father was a Siamese. He is about 3 years old and is a sweety.
I adopted Matteo after losing my most precious of all to FIP. I named him Matteo b/c it is Italian and it means Gift from God. He was so used to being around other cats and loving on them. Unfortunately my females are the opposite, they like to do their own thing, and when he goes near them they swat and hissss. So, I had to get him a friendly companion......
Gizmo is the newest of my critters. I adopted him 2 days ago so that Matteo would have a friend. Gizmo is 5 1/2 months old. Boy did I forget what having a kitten in the house was like! He loves to play w/ everything.
My boyfriend has told me that 4 is enough, so I suppose I am done adopting cats....for now!
Jeffers & Athena
I rescued both of these dogs from a shelter. My intentions when I first looked on the website was to adopt the "typical" looking pitbull, well that didn't happen. I came across Athena's story and my heart dropped.
I then told the owner of the shelter that as long as she was nice I would pick her up that Saturday. When I met her, she was very timid, but still a sweet heart, and I couldn't say no. They lady then told me that it was too bad that I couldn't have two b/c she shared a cage w/ a male and they loved each other. So being the sucker that I am I asked to see him. When he first approached me, he tail was wagging, his tongue was hanging out, and he stood on his hind legs w/ his back to me to kiss my face. SOLD!!!
Here is Athena's story, keep in mind this was an abuse case and the pictures are not for the weak at heart. Jeffers was a stray that someone found. I can't believe how good he is. I think someone lost an awesome boy!

Pharaoh - RIP
I adopted Pharaoh from the SPCA in Sept. of 05'. He was like a little human. He followed everyone around talking, wanting attention. You could do anything w/ him. He would sit however, where ever you put him. The dogs would come out and he was fine w/ it. Even went in their room when he could. He was just the most awesome little man ever!!
After Christmas we found out that he had FIP. After feeding him through a syringe 4 times a day, giving him his steroids, things continued to go down hill. It got to the point that he stayed in one spot on the floor, not even moving to use the restroom.
The night of my birthday, I was asleep, at 11:45 he managed to jump up on the bed to lay next to me like he used to. We put a trashbag down and some towels and he spent his last night w/ me. It was like he knew. I had to put him to sleep the next day. We found out that he was born w/ a small liver and the steroids had sent him into full liver failure. He was suffering and had less than 24 hours to live. I still can't get over it. But I know he is in a better place.
This picture is now framed and above the piano.
