The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
Hi, first of all I'm sorry for this I just have to ask!
My little boy Sleeves got neutered in November, obviously the area was shaved and has taken a while to start growing back. Recently the way the fur has grown (I'm struggling to know how to describe this...) it looks like, well, he was never neutered?! As in exactly like it did before, 2 little bumps... I actually had to discretely inspect these 'bumps' the other day to make sure it was just furr because I was concerned about how much they looked like he'd grown his testicles back!! But yes it is definately just furr.
Has anyone else ever had this? Is it just the way the furr it trained to grow, into 2 perfect bumps?
Once again I apologise, I'm writing this with a red face

Lauren

Yup, that sounds normal- I think it's just excess skin left over. Trust me, it's much smaller than what was there or what would grow.

Haha yes you are right, his seemed to be growing my the day when we got him neutered lol. I just wondered as Id never heard of this before, once he got done there was nothing there at all, it was just a flat area but its not risen again... Oh well at least he can pretend to be 'manly' again

My two both have little empty fur sacs, I had to check as well as I thought the vet had left something- it is so long since I had a male cat. I am quite thankful that there is something there to see at least - when I secretly neutered my neighbour's feral he never noticed!

Same here, Jenny. They don't seem to actually remove the scrotum, just the testicles.

Well, they leave the scrotum there, so he's still got a place to HOLD what they took out. I was confused at first with Leo. If you go so far as to touch that area (and I'd do so with extreme caution!), you'd quickly find that there are no testicles left in there.

Thanks for your replies! I really had no idea it would still look like this once it healed! Yes I've touched it, he wasn't bothered, I just kind of proded it very gently to see if there was any substance to it but it just feels like fluffy hair.

Hey....Don't feel alone in wondering about that. I kind of wondered too once.

Wife gave me the answer. Ummm...I wouldn't touch.

Thanks for the smile.
