Poppy is the most furriest kit I have ever met......Its think and plush..and absolutly georgeous......

But I have a problem......

The hair on her neck which is white on the chest side and black on the back side is entirely too long...She basically walks around w/ what looks like an Elizabethian coller of hair.......

Now my problem is this....anytime she opens her mouth she gets this hair in her mouth....and sometimes tries to swollow it...However it is attached to her cheast and she begins gagging........

Secondly because her hair is soo thick and soft...for some reason when she sheads...ecspecially around the neck area it basically just stays in the hair....so when I per her big chunks of hair come out......It scares the crap out of me when it happenes.....However she has no rash or anything looking like hair loss on her skin....She just seems to have a lot of freekin hair......
Then to make matters worse when she get her chest hair stuck in her mouth she will sometimes pull out these big chunks of hair........

The other day she started choking on one, and my friend had to pull it out of her mouth..........

I groom my cats at least twice a week....However this doesnt seem to make a dent on Poppys mane......

So what am I supposed to do....Cut it???...groom it more???....any siggestions....I really dont want my poor poppy to choke on her own fur.....

Thanx

My himilayan Charlotte has the same problem with the gagging hair in the mouth. When it gets to the point that it realyl seems to be bothering her I trim it up a bit.

Yep, my Emily has that same problam. I just comb the heck out of it all the time, and when it gets too long, I trim it down some. She gets shaved down once a year too.
