I'm very used to my resident weirdo, age two, being a weird little kitty, but she keeps adding little quirky personality traits faster than I can blink sometimes. This is not a rant, or an upset anything, In fact, I love her chubby little wierdities, as they keep life interesting, and 99.85% of the time are completely harmless to me and my sparse dusting of belongings. I am just curious about one of them.

In the past few weeks, there have been many changes. A loved one died suddenly, and now kitty has resumed her love of parking in my lap and sleeping whole days away on my days off, stopping only to stretch across my shoulders when I get up and walk around. (definately not complaining about that)

She also has been meowing weirdly every once in a while. I mean, she sounds ANGRY, but still like she's meowing? I can only describe it as a half growl/half meow (done all at once). This has only happened twice.

First was last night. She'd curled up in my lap and gone to sleep. She woke up, stretched, and made that sound. It startled me, and I looked at her, and she looked at me as if to say "What??", then proceeded to casually groom her thig, burrowed her head into my armpit, and went back to sleep.

Second time was this morning, stretching after she woke up again. I dashed up to her, she gave me the same look, chirped once, and flitted onto my shoulder, where she immediately began to purr, roll around, and give me my daily pre-shower.

Am I being paranoid? I think she might be copyng us, as me and bf both stretch and making lots of weird noises as we wake up.

You're concerned about your kitty, who may need to see a vet, that's not paranoid, that's why we use forums.

I'm not too worried atm, She already has an appt. next week for dental, and the vet always does thorough checkups. I'll ask about it then.

I dunno, but it just sounds normal to me. Our cat neve talked when we first got him. But now, he talks when he gets up, when he's hungry, when he wants to be petted...etc..he's just talking all the time.

Maybe your kitty just learned to talk, and he really likes it. lol. I dont really know. But like always, I'd say something to the vet, because maybe your kitty isnt feeling well or something, and it's just her way of expressing it.
